Not long ago, I discovered I had a tumor in my left eye. I was told I needed an in-network referral in order to see the cancer specialists that could help me. Thus began my mostly negative experience with battling insurance companies. Through sheer luck, it turned out the one doctor's office around here that my insurance would cover just happened to be Groveton Family Medical. So, faced with no other options, I scheduled an appointment there and went to see them, fully expecting to be told they couldn't help me. Boy, was I wrong. From the minute I walked in the door, I knew this place was different. I can honestly say that if not for the wonderful staff there, I'd likely still be sitting around waiting on referrals and dealing with insurance headaches. These people not only made me feel like I was their only patient, they also took it upon themselves to go the extra mile and directly contact my insurance company to make things happen for me. There was one day in particular that two different employees there stayed on the phone with my insurance company for seven whole hours to get me the very best help possible. If any of you are looking for a place where you will be treated like a priority as opposed to "just another patient", I cannot recommend this place highly enough. They have helped me so much when it would have been easier for them to send me somewhere else and save themselves the headache. I know this status is reaching novel lengths so I'll end it here. Just know that their staff helped me through the roughest part of my life and renewed my faith in our medical system. I just can't say enough good things about them.
