House keeper was drunk half the time walking around asking if we needed help, when we said no thanks she would cuss and act all happy. Manager Richard proceeded to accuse us of the electricity going out 4 times during a 4 night visit, we weren't even in the rooms for more than a few hours a day. After the visit Richard called me charged my account with out permission, yelled at me and hung up on me with my whole family watching as I calmly spoke to him. Beware of these drunk rude people that accuse the stayers of their false doings or poor installation jobs. Rooms were not even stocked with appropriate things like dish soap or even trash bags and broom. The beach was great, however the employees basically ruined the trip for us. Also their credit card machine seems to go down when you try to pay, they make you run to the bank to withdrawal money right away or raise their voices. Awful experience.

I hope whoever reads this looks elsewhere for lodging on the Gulf. Our experience at this motel was awful!!!! The first day there the electric went out understandable it was storming.  BUT in the second unit that was rented it was out more then half the time there and we were told it was our fault because our daughter was using a hair blower.  When in reality the breaker had to be constantly turned back on in just that room repeatedly.  Our second day there we were asked at 7:30am to pay because he didn't want to have to work on the weekend.  Maybe because we paid in cash.  We discovered black mold in the air conditioning units and the blinds that were not hung correctly fell on my 7 year old grandsons head.  The management was NOWHERE to be found. The day we checked out the cleaning lady expressed how hungover she was and had no intentions of cleaning our room that day.  To top off this horrible motel they had the nerve to charge our account without notification for the broken blind in the room.  And proceeded to tell us we left the room trashed.  I am 58 years old and I have NEVER left any hotel room trashed.  The management is an embarassment to whoever owns the Gulf Surf.

So the place itself like the beach was nice, but everything else was a real horrorshow , the rooms were in poor condition with out the basic of things trash bags, proper electric, we had to constantly fight the appliences to get them to work, what staff was there was either drunk ,rude , or just not helpful , there was a not so hot tub , the beds felt like you were sleeping on a stone slab, the black mold growing in the air conditioning was a bit concerning, and proceeded to blame us for not "cleaning", also they tried to take my own personal beach tool and say it was there's until I produced a receipt , lastly we were told "not to use the hose used for rinsing because there water bill was to high" so total 1/10 would not return thanks gulf surf for making my first and last visit terrible :)
