Gurnee Eye Care is an independent practice owned by Dr. Robert Alongi O.D.
We are conveniently located on the corner of Tri-State Pkwy and Washington St. in Gurnee , Illinois in a beautiful new building.

Gurnee Eye Care is now home to a brand new state-of-the-art facility which was designed to provide you with maximum comfort. For your convenience we have increased parking, added exam rooms and tripled our optical dispensary to include additional designer eye wear. We have also added new products and services, the latest in technology and upgraded our equipment. Children have a fun play-room to enjoy. Been seeing Dr. Alongi for years and LOVE him,  He is a great Docotr and personality to match. However, today I went in to ask if my prescription could be made into lens for an old frame that I bough there. Sorry,  I don't know names, but I was working with a girl that I  had never worked with before , who told me that if I wasn't going to use it my insurance, the lens would be more expensive. I told her I wanted to use the balance in my Aflac account, so no insurance. She then told me it would be $915.00 for the trifocal progressive anti glare lenses. When I questioned the expense she defiantly  showed me that my last pair was also that expensive, but since I was using insurance, they never showed me the full amount. Took my prescription to Walmart and got the same trifocal progressive anti glare for $315.00. Really? A difference of $600.00?? Seems like something is wrong here. Quite a rip off to mark up lenses that much.  Makes one wonder

I have been to several optometrists and Dr. Alongi truly is the best. He is knowledgeable and funny.
