This HEB does not have a number of the items that have become staple items in my pantry. I was pretty disappointed after having such a positive experience at multiple other locations. They do have a much more complete selection of authentic Mexican food items than other locations; it is good if you are looking for Mexican ingredients but bad if you want to make any other ethnic recipes.

There whole store is catered to the Hispanic community. Which is fine but when it comes to desserts, in the bakery section. Not much American desserts to choose from. And we need more of variety in the meat section. And checkout lines can be more efficient. Other than this i would shop there more often.

I love visiting my HEB some of the employees are great they make you feel like part of the family great you with hugs and smiles once you get to know them.

This HEB has a really dirty parking lot compared to a lot of others, but the fresh produce is HEB fresh as always. The announcers / advertisers on the intercom are loud and annoying, but also bilingual, which is helpful, I guess. The ppl at the desk who rent the carpet cleaners were kind and helpful to me when I needed further explanation.

Edit: it's been seven years since I posted this review and I have to say this HEB has improved. They've redone the interior, it's cleaned and stocked and they have a few more check out lanes open during peak. Their selection is getting better too so we're able to do almost all that our shopping here. Old: I live 30 seconds away from this HEB and drive to the Palmer location to buy groceries. This HEB has a terrible selection, and none of the cool and interesting products you can get at other HEBs. Always very crowded, but they never have all the checkouts open. The only thing worth while here are the flour tortillas they make. I wouldn't say it's scary, everyone there minds their own business. 80% of the people who shop there only speak spanish so there is a weird language/culture barrier, at least for me. I just don't like the selection, it's dirty, and not very visually compelling.
