I was surprised and happy how much work they put in on the store.  (End of 2017 currently) it used to be so beat up.  They deserve congratulations for turning it around.  I was hungry for crystallized fruit and candied nuts for holidays. I bet they have them if I dare venture out. They truly have almost EVERYTHING a community needs.  It can be busy so be polite please when you go. Thank-you H Mart

Korean supermarket chain. This outlet is super clean and well stocked. The surrounding neighborhood is very diverse, so in addition to Asian foods they have a good selection of African, Middle Eastern, and Central & South American foods. 

The produce is fresh and in good condition. The fish and seafood section offers an especially wide selection of fresh fish in its original condition. The mongers will de-head, filet according to your wishes. You can even get shrimp with the heads on.

Amazing store to find foods from Asia you can't get at regular stores. Many different flavors of mochi, a case with handmade mochi. Some of the frozen boxes were freezer burned. Able to buy items we loved from trips abroad. No English descriptions or help in the store, so know what you are going for or bring a friend to help.

Very unprofessional, I shop there since the day one Hmart (Gaithersburg) opens and never know they have policy not allow customer to use credit card if the total is under $5. Last week, I forgot to buy some tomatos  as soon as I checked out, after I loaded my stuff to my car, I went in again to get couple tomatos it costs around $2.49, the Cashier said I couldn't pay it with credit card because it is less than $5, I said there is no sign indicated that policy and I do not have cash with me, she cancelled my order, I went to office, they are 3 staffs over there, they all shake their heads and told me no that kind of policy but I shall buy more next time.  I do not understand if no policy why can I pay it  with credit card and why do I need to buy more.
When I asked them, one male staff put one figer on his lips showing 'be quiet', It is very rute to me.

[Racial Discrimination Against Black People ] 

I've been patronizing this market for a number of years on/off and never had a problematic shopping experience like today. Coming from the gym wearing a black hooded sweat shirt to this market, I was followed around by the pale police woman. I'm not sure if she suspected something and whispered into the store mgr's ears but as I was leaving- this wide faced, chinky-eyed, rude man stared at me then told me not to bring my bag-on- wheels anymore. I have always used this bag here to shop. Not sure what was different today. I told him "NO, because I'm not returning". My bag has all my personal items in it (i.e., wallet, drivers license, etc.).

NOTE TO MELANATED PEOPLE:  
Don't allow anyone to dismiss or silence your experience(s) as it relates to racial discrimination/colorism. Here I am a hard working professional that follow all the rules, live in peace, and pay taxes; yet I was still treated like a criminal at this market. I didn't argue. I simply will NEVER RETURN. I'd much rather spend my hard earned dollars where I'm a respected customer.
