Love the quantity and quality here. The super crispy chips and queso and the fried avocado tacos are my absolute favorite. I didn’t give 5 stars because the tacos are sometimes too big and make it very hard to eat. Won’t stop me from returning, can’t wait to try more.
What was formerly Irma's Burger Shack, Hacienda Tacos brought to midtown a fresher scene with old school tacos, burritos, enchiladas, and such. It was not crowded during our visit and we were promptly greeted by the staff who was tending the bar as well. Guests order at the register and food/drinks will be brought out to your table as indicated by a number stand you take with you. There are several seating options including a outdoor space wrapping the restaurant. The bright yellow cushioned benches are comfortable while the free standing chairs are a little too low for the tables. Tacos can be messy but the varieties offered give you a good reason to try 2 to 3 types. I enjoy the one with fried avocado though the meat in the al pastor was a bit dry.
Ate lunch here today. Kind of a mixed review in the sense that I loved my burrito but my wife wasn’t thrilled on the tacos. The difference is that I got the brisket in my burrito and the tacos had ground beef. Big difference in taste in my humble opinion. Brisket was great, ground beef was bland. Because of this, I can’t give a five. I went back and forth on a three or four star review. I thought the brisket had really good flavor, and I thought it had a pretty good atmosphere. Ultimately, I landed on the higher of the two. Seems like a good place for a Friday or Saturday evening. Plenty of drink options. Also, the queso had a different taste than I’m used to but it was really good. Chips were crunchy and delicious. So really the only reason I could think to not give five stars was the disappointment in lack of flavor for the taco meat. The interior itself has some fun graphics on the wall similar to the movie Coco. Many TVs around the room playing sports and music. Although, several ads would play randomly over the music videos. Weird and annoying. But, only a minor complaint. Great location mid to uptown area across from St Anthony’s hospital. Overall, it was a good experience and would recommend. Glad we tried it today. Also, I thought the bathroom was cool in that it had English to Spanish translations plastered on the wall. Then the random Stormtrooper and Sasquatch paintings on the wall were cool.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place. We’ve eaten ALL over okc and this is by far one of the best restaurants in town. The food was super delicious. I probably had the best taco I’ve ever eaten before in my life. The smoked barbacoa was incredible inside the homemade tortillas with avocado to top it off. I also tried their frozen peach margarita which was very tasty & the cinnamon honey sopapillas really hit the spot for dessert. Mmmm!! So so good. Plus the service was outstanding loved having Stephen as our server and the ambience is really great in the restaurant. We’re definitely coming back & I’m telling ALL of my friends and family to come eat here…hopefully with me!!
Visiting from Houston and has this craving for Tacos…..let me tell you this place satisfied that crazy well. And service was pretty great as well. Money well spent Recommended dishesHacienda Taco, Al Pastor
The employees are super nice. I believe it was the owner that stopped by our table a few times just to ensure our food was good. My only complaint is the salsa. It's literally like water. I have never had such watered down salsa before. I picked it up and could drink it. I really hope they can work on that. Any who back to the good. The quesadillas were delicious, probably the best I ever had. The chips for the "salsa" are homemade, fresh, and delicious. I love the atmosphere here too. We will be back.
Absolutely loved this little Mexican meal. Full of life and personality and staff was super helpful and drinks were delicious. Highly recommend getting the fried shrimp Baja tacos. The fried shrimp really give it a unique kick and the tacos have just the right about of spice.Recommended dishesCarnitas Taco Mojo Chicken Taco Baja Shrimp Taco, Frozen Margarita
Me and my wife use to love coming to this place but the new manager should not be doing customer service she has no clue on how to treat a paying customer constantly putting The Neighborhood Restaurant down and wondering why people are going over there for “high priced eggs” well it probably starts with customer service. Needless to say we never got a drink or food because the manager says “ I am off the clock so ya deal with it”
The service is amazing. Really fast and friendly even on a busy Saturday night with a big concert just blocks away. My wife had the asada tacos My daughter had the fried avocado The other daughter had the hacienda Myself the El Pastor. My daughters both enjoyed their food. My wife enjoyed the asada, and shares one with me in a trade agreement. The pastor tacos were good, but not as good as the asada. We just had Mexican soda so I can't speak for their drinks, but what I saw come out looked good. 4/5 because I just didn't really enjoy the pastor
Awesome staff! Everyone was super nice and accommodating. Robert, the bartender, handled our table and had great recommendations on food and even offered to customize a chimichanga, by deep frying a burrito in order to make a full size chimi with fajita steak. The cheese wasn't fully melted inside, but it still tasted good, especially with salsa ranch and we loved their willingness to special make something! The street tacos and nachos were only ok, the peppers were fresh and tasty, but the meat was bland. The ranch and salsas helped spice up the flavor
