We have been going to the Elk River Hajime since it opened a few years ago. We had always been happy with the food and service until our last visit. At this last visit, we asked for 3 orders of calamari, which in the past had always been excellent. When the calamari arrived, it was cold. We immediately notified our server of the cold calamari and asked for it to be remade. She acted a little annoyed, removed the calamari, and returned with 3 orders of calamari. It did not seem that it was remade, but only microwaved. The calamari was rubbery and by far the worst calamari we have had at Hajime since we started going there. It was not the service or experience we had come to expect at Hajime. My original review had been 4 stars.

Excellent Japanese cuisine. The food is wonderful. The atmosphete is pleasant and so are the staff. It has a regular dining area and a sushi bar. It is a surprising find in Elk River.

Hajime has great food! The staff is always smiling and friendly. The atmosphere is relaxing and clean

I live close and it's very addicting! However sometimes I just want to take it home and eat it so I try to order for pick-up. The only issue is that I get hung up on occasionally by some waitresses and they have poor phone quality. Good place to get sushi though! Maybe a higher rating if they had better service over the phone.

We are so lucky to have this gem in our neck of the woods. Walking in you feel like you're in a downtown restaurant with modern decor and soft blue atmosphere. Service is top grade,very easy to read menu, beautiful presentation and small town prices (reasonably priced) we go there at least every couple of weeks since opening a couple of years ago and always enjoy our experience.
