I was having terrible foot pain after working out and really wanted to be able to get back to my full high impact workout. So I went into the Happy Feet store next to Pier 1, not really knowing what they would have, just curious. Let me just say - do not go in here unless you are A) completely impervious to salesmanship or B) ready to buy. They lay the sales pitch on very heavy and there's kind of a lot of mumbo jumbo with foot imprints that I think is largely meaningless. Let me also say that these are shoe inserts that cost over $300. To me, that is outrageous and I had no idea until I'd been through an hour of sales pitch and they dropped it in to the conversation. I, however, am not impervious to good yet intense salesmanship and I bought the inserts - the big, hard piece of plastic that cost hundreds of dollars. HOWEVER, they work - thus the 3 stars. I had been in terrible pain and unable to do any jumping or running in my workout, unable to even get around the house enough to cook and clean. Now I am mostly without pain or inconvenience. Two things to note, however: 1) I can't actually wear them when I'm working out because my foot cramps up when I jump on that insert. During the sales pitch they told me that my foot would gradually get used to the insert and I'd be able to wear them while working out. Not so for me. So I work out without them and wear them all the time when I'm not working out and I get by that way. 2) They will make your shoe slip up and down. When I tried them on at the store, I pointed this out and both salespeople assured me that I was trying them in particularly shallow shoes and that in regular sneakers they wouldn't make the back of my shoe slip. But they do. I got used to it but it's still a little annoying. Still, I'm more functional than I was before and that's worth a lot.

I went to the store in NLR following a chiropractic visit. After a special event with extremely long hrs on my feet for a month and was having terrible foot pain. I went thru the sales pitch of the inserts for $200 and $20 off if you buy today. Oh by the way if they dont work u cant return them because of the health dept regulations. Well guess what they dont work!! As a matter of fact they caused pain when I use them. I had told them that running shoes and arch supports hurt me but they said but these are different. Biggest waste of money wore them a week to get used to them and they killed my feet!!! I could hardly walk at all!!! Very frustrated and it seems unreasonable to sell anything that could not be returned if it causes problems!! Bought sept 2014! Pain often makes you feel desperate to try things good sense says is ridiculous.
