Story

HTAA is one of the friendliest synagogues in the Greater DC area, located in Silver Spring, only two blocks away from the Wheaton Metro Station and a short walk from the neighborhood of Kemp Mill.

Come and participate in our daily minyan, morning and evening, 365 days a year. After morning minyan, stay for the bagel breakfast, meet our friendly rabbi and schmooze with the minyannaires about the world's problems. Join us for a Shabbos morning service, hear our fascinating speakers, and stay for our fabulous kiddush.

Do you have small children? While you participate in our main Shabbat morning service, bring them to Tot Shabbat, where they will hear parsha stories, learn basic prayers, sing songs and eat a light snack. As we want to keep our 'tots' engaged, join us during the week for Mommy & Me classes held in Rachel's Playhouse at 1910 (the ECC building).

Our Kinder Konnection Religious School caters to grades K-7 on Sunday mornings (9:15am-11am), while our Panim El Panim Teen Peer Group (grades 8-12) will practice tikun olam projects and discuss difficult teen topics from 11am-Noon.

Mission

With guidance from Rabbi Steve Suson, synagogue professional staff, and lay leaders, HTAA ascribes to the Rabbinic teaching from Pirkei Avot, "The world is sustained through Torah, worship, and acts of loving kindness." For Har Tzeon-Agudath Achim, this teaching provides a firm foundation for fulfilling its mission of serving members and the larger community through religious, educational, social, and communal activities.
