By far, it's one of the best restaurants we've ever stepped foot in. Samantha 374 greeted us, seated us, and took care of us throughout the remainder of the time there. She made sure that my drink tasted the way that I wanted it to and that our food was just right. She checked on us at all of the right times and kept filling our drinks up so that they were never empty. Gave us extra napkins and just went above and beyond with her exceptional service. We will most definitely be back to this establishment. Such a clean, beautiful, warm, and inviting place to have dinner at, and the food tasted phenomenal, as Samantha promised. The manager/owner came up to us at the end to make sure that everything was great and that we were satisfied. Very pleased with everything. Not a single bad thing can be said. You won't be disappointed coming here. 10/10, 5 stars.
Great options for seafood!! The killer shrimp is very super fly!!! Waitress is amazing and inviting. Atmosphere is absolutely crazy beautiful. The glass art is something you must see first hand. I recommend bringing a date here or if your trying to get lucky, Harbor House will seal that deal!!!!Food: 5/5
Nice looking service bar! But, generally, the place feels a little bit disjointed. There are 2 large rooms for seating. Both rooms seem a bit cavernous for the seating arrangement. There are 3 very nice leaded glass works of art over the archways separating the 2 seating areas. Im not really sure about the genre of the motif of the restaurant? As noted by others, it’s a bit dark, making it a little difficult to see the menu. Our server was quick with the initial beverage order. But, she was spread a bit thin as the dinner progressed. We came with 6 diners. We ordered some New York Strips, Fish and Chips and Surf and Turf. The meals were not too impressive. Portions were reasonable. Presentation was weak though. No one in our party had a complaint about their food or service. But, there were no cheers either. I’d have to say the experience/food was average. Prices were fair and reasonable, in my opinion. What I really didn’t like was the “built-in” 16% gratuity for our party of 6. In order to properly compensate our server, I had to think about how much extra to add on to the gratuity to be fair to her. I’m a generous tipper when I receive caliber service. The management should reconsider the policy in my opinion.
The food was excellent and our waitress was fantastic. Although her gratuity was included, she still treated us like she hadn't gotten a tip. That's great because so many that have gratuity added services are horrible. One thing they could have done was to make sure my bowl with my soup was wiped off instead of serving a bowl with all the soup running down the bowl looking a hot mess. And, also when someone is paying cash, they want a receipt just like the ones using a credit card! Dietary restrictions: Everything is fried. Uugghh. They need more healthy options like broil, grilled or baked options. Also having virgin drinks like daiquiris would be nice and refreshing. Also, they need more than salad and broccoli as a side vegetable dish. Parking: I always get a parking spot on the street. There weren't many. Thank God it was Sunday and you can park free.
I used to come here often, especially on special occasions. I was surprised to find no live entertainment on a Saturday night. There also is no mention of it on their website aside from it being on the top banner. My second disappointment was they no longer have all you can eat dinner selections. Those were my two main reasons for coming at all.
We had a pleasant experience at our early dinner at Harbor House. Their menu is not overwhelming but offers enough choices to make most guests happy. We started out with the saganaki app, which was larger than many we have had in the past and had a little more flavor than typical. I was looking forward to the Porterhouse steak, but they were out. I settled for the T-bone with the cheese and bacon covered baked potato. I also had a side salad and a cup of gumbo. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium. The potato was very hearty and the salad was very fresh and crisp. The gumbo left me wanting a little more heat from the Andouille, but it was very good also. My wife chose the snow crab and rib platter with he baked potato and salad. She thoroughly enjoyed her crab and said the ribs were very tender yet left enough of a bite. She also enjoyed her blackberry whiskey lemonade. Our only complaint came with the bill and saw "Gratuity" already added into the bill. It was what we would pay for the experience, but directly below that was an additional suggested tip listing for 15, 20, and 25%. Had I not looked closely at the bill, I would have added another $25 to the tip. It just felt a little sneaky to us.
First and foremost the food we ordered calamari steaks appetizer, shrimp scampi and porterhouse was AMAZING! BUT THE SERVICE WE RECEIVED FROM OUR WAITRESS BROOK WAS HORRIBLE! She was not attentive to our needs. Very dry. Never refilled our drinks. Never brought us water. Checked on us once. When we asked for a plate so we could share our meal she seemed confused and had a bit of an attitude. She cleared dishes off other patrons tables but left ours a mess for the other pleasant employees to clear. Then when we were done with our meal she walked over and simply said "box". She was conversing with the people around us and being very friendly. It was just something about us that caused her to be rude. Automatic gratuity for poor service. She did not deserve $17! I was going to leave her $5 even though she deserved nothing at all.
Relaxing atmosphere and great food. Great location for a meal before a Tigers game. Get the deep fried mushrooms. Everything else was excellent. The staff is friendly what more can you asked for in a restaurant?
