After a week of  brutally cold weather my water main burst, leaking down the sidewalk.  Out of the four companies I called, Harris Water and Main had the best customer service.  They replied quickly, sent someone out to explain the project, how the regulations in New York work and came in at the lowest price. They even communicated with my home owner's insurance company to assist me with a claim.  Strongly recommend.

The week before Christmas my neighbor informed me that he believed my sewer line was leaking into his basement. This was confirmed and I had three companies come out and give me quotes. I was the fourth house on our Clinton Hill block to do this work and I'm the only one who was thrilled by the company that I hired (one house on the block is still waiting on the repairs to the section of the street that was opened which gets performed after the final payment which is due when work is done). This crew worked incredibly long hours and was completely professional. I would highly recommend them to anyone. The proposal was actually a bit lower than the others I received and there was very little cleanup required in my basement (i had expected a total disaster). They were very clear about how the process would go along and answered all my questions.

I had no water in my house for 5 days and had all sorts of plumbers to investigate. Finally it was confirmed that my water line was frozen, I decided to meet with 3 water main companies which 2 of them were pressuring me to have the water main replaced the next day "or else"- they were giving me several reasons why it had to be replaced right away. I met with Harris Water who took a different approach, they reminded me that it was a costly job and we were about to have 1-2 days of warmer weather. They said that it probably wont defrost the pipe but now is the time to try.  They were available to answer questions over the next few days and did not pressure me about replacing the pipe at all. 
They were correct and the pipe did not defrost, at this point I felt so comfortable with them I requested a price quote which also ended up being less than the two other companies.  The pipe was replaced two days later and for what was such a negative situation, they made it as positive as possibly could be.

Brett was fantastic!! He was very understanding and calmed me down by explaining the process to me and told me to call DEP. Based on this level of professionalism I decided to go into contract with Harris Water and Sewer.
On the day of the job the crew arrived on time and finished the job as expected. Kevin one of the workers explained what they were doing and gave real expectations of the job. 
Very pleased with the service!!!
