This is 100% a college bar for unc kids. Its a place to get sloppy. They serve beer in these huge iconic blue cups, so its easy to get sloshed. I would not recommend for the 25 and up crowd since you will have to fight masses of students and they can be annoying. But if you're simply bar hoping and don't mind the crowds of students it can be an OK stop.

Came here over the summer with some friends. Super campy vide, totally a fun spot to hangout though. One of those places that makes Chapel Hill what it is!

The older (late 30s/early 40s) gentleman who served me appeared as if he was more interested in watching the basketball game on the TV than serving his customers. As far as I could tell he was in charge; I believe I heard that his name was Flanders. The beer selection is fairly decent, but hearing an employee mention that they just recently replaced their keg cooler that had been completely infested and covered in black mold for years certainly makes me question their other hygiene standards. If I'm not mistaken, I also caught the employees mentioning that there are more rats than employees who make themselves at home at this bar. I understand that they don't serve food, but if I was going to contract a terminal disease at a bar, I'd bet on it being this one. The one redeeming characteristic of this bar was the friendliness of the staff outside of that Flanders fellow, but it was not enough to justify more than one star. Overall, I'd say this is the kind of place you go once then realize that it's not really all its cracked up to be, especially once you realize their immense disregard for their customers' health.

40 oz of (admittedly mediocre) draft beer for under $10 is hard to beat. Unfortunately, you'll have to contend with anyone else able to do the math on that, which is pretty much anyone in town with a passable fake. Mostly an undergraduate crowd, but in an excellent location, with a really nice backyard setting. If the weather is good, it's worth seeing. Be aware that there will be little to no available seating at peak times.

Nothing too special from this Moe's. More directed towards the college students nearby but not a bad place to grab a late night snack or food.
