Dr. Hofflich is a knowledgeable, warm, and caring physician. It is her dedication to her patients, her positive and reassuring attitude , along with her medical knowledge and research abilities that have gotten me through many complicated health issues. Dr. Hofflich is an excellent diagnostician. However, she will email other doctors on your behalf, or refer you to a specialist, if need be. I trust Dr. Hofflich with all of medical care. I know she cares about me and all of her patients. She has emailed me or called me after hours, on weekends, or on vacation. Dr. Hofflich is a real gem in the world of heakthcare today.

If you have hypothyroidism due to Hashimoto's, please DO NOT waste your time with Hofflich. She does not have the competence to treat this complex condition. Hashimoto's, the leading cause of hypothyroidism in the US (~90% of cases), is an autoimmune condition where the body attacks the thyroid with antibodies. Antibodies may be revealed in blood work via the anti TPO and anti TG antibodies tests. Also, if experiencing throat pain/discomfort, please perform a thyroid ultrasound to check for nodules or other abnormalities. More importantly, please find an integrative or a functional doctor that shows compassion, listens to your symptoms, and examines the root cause. There are doctors right here in San Diego who can help--Nourish Medical Center and San Diego Brain Center are some of the health providers with experience in treating Hashimoto's. To educate yourself about Hashimoto's and hypothyroidism, please read books by Izabella Wentz, Datis Kharrazian, and Stop the Thyroid Madness. Best wishes to you in your search for your root cause.

Dr. Hofflich is smart and has a perfect bedside manner. She's an excellent doctor.
