Let me start this review with something positive. This surgeon is amazing and a very nice man. My sister recently went through a very stressful surgery for herniated disc in her spine. While this doctor made her feel great, his office staff is a complete disaster. They not only cannot schedule an appointment correctly but they are rude and disrespectful. Every appointment she has scheduled has been done incorrectly, they put her on days when he is not in, they have it scheduled as a general exam when it is a post op... etc. This creates issues for her when she is trying to be seen, then they blame it on her saying they have left her several messages. Funny, she had never received any calls from them. During her scheduling process for her surgery she was told the doctor was unavailable for an entire month, then scheduled her during that month because that turned out to be not true. Finally, DAYS before her surgery SHE called THEM and was informed her surgery was moved, again a "voicemail" was left for her that was never received. Finally, she asked to speak to a manager who kept letting her calls go to her voicemail because she simply does not care. At least that is the impression she gives us. It goes without saying the manager never called her back. Their staff constantly gives her attitude, the surgery scheduler told her over that phone that she "is not the only patient in their office." While this is obviously true, that is insane to me that you would dismiss someone's requests because they are not at the top of YOUR list. Surgery is stressful and scary. Staff is supposed to be supportive and kind given the circumstances. This staff needs a lesson in customer service skills, put yourselves in someone else's shoes and see how you would feel being treated like dirt while you are going through a stressful situation and A LOT of pain. I am actually a Scripps employee myself, I know how this stuff works and my sister is a former employee of 10+ years. To be treated that way is completely unacceptable and something needs to be done. Clearly their manager does not care, hopefully the director will. I honestly have no idea how they have any business considering the disgusting behavior of the front desk, surgery scheduler and their PSR's answering calls.

Dr Mundis did surgery on my spine in December 2013. I had surgery for scoliosis at age 13 and a compression fracture in 2002. After 12 plus years of doctors giving me morphine, and every other kind of pain medicine, Dr Mundis was the only doctor who offered an alternative. The surgery was extremely difficult (for me) and recovery took many months. However, thanks to Dr Mundis I am now on an occasional ibuprofen and living my life again. He is kind, compassionate, and most of all extremely knowledgeable.

Patient, understanding & great bedside manner. He really listens & after many spinal surgeries I have a good feeling about my upcoming surgery.
