As a local, this was always a go to place to relax and do some impromptu camping. But now? What a joke. It's become a total trashy hole. Drugs, fights, illegal fireworks. 

Last year I organized a group campout and I am embarrassed by how bad the place has gotten. Thuggish crowds walking around, yelling at all hours of the night, lighting off an M80 right next to our tent at 3 am. Good Lord, never again. Kendall Co needs to take action on this place. 

Paddle faster, I hear banjos.

I camped at Hideaway Lake's a while back and plan to go there again in the spring. To me it was a pleasant stay. They have two large fishing lakes And a mile frontage on the Fox River. The place is huge 150 acres mostly wooded and a very large swimming lake with a nice playground and the lots seem a lot bigger than most other places that I've been to.

I will go back to this place. Nothing fancy. Pure plain and simple is the order for every day. A down to earth, basic place to connect with nature.

The grounds are huge an unkept. There is an abundance of caution tape and pot holes. There is trash weeds and heavy equipment everywhere. They tell you there is Wi-Fi but I have not been able to find a signal anywhere. They charge an extra $10 per person per day if you bring more than 2 people. The showers are gross and the kind where you have to push a button for water to come out. I stay at alot of campgrounds and this is the worst I have seen yet.
