Three generations of my family have come here: my grandparents, my mother and myself. The food is always fresh made especially the roast beef sandwiches. Generous slices of meat on yummy rolls. Nice and casual ambience. Definitely recommend that you visit

Been going since 1975.  Best french dip ive ever had. Really good fish and chips. Great views and very reasonable prices for the quality. Nothing bad to say except counter help is not consistent. 3 generation tradition now!

I have been visiting the Hofbrau for three decades now, and it never disappoints.  The roast beef sandwiches are my favorite -- super fresh and very yummy.  Because the food and view are so terrific, I always bring out-of-towners here -- it's hard to beat a great restaurant over the water, watching sea otters and seals frolicking by Morro rock.  And the people are nice too -- highly recommended!

Ate here in early December 2017. The food was good. Roast beef sandwich was tender and full of flavor. The corned beef sandwich was good and hot off the press. The service was pretty much terrible. We ordered a calamari appetizer special as well as a calamari dinner. Both sandwiches arrived before the appetizer. The staff seemed to have forgotten about the calamari orders. When asked, they said it would be right up and I think went to start it. Eventually they brought the order out, but after both of my friends had finished their dinner. 

Additionally several staff ignored another customer and me while we tried to get a drink refill. It took a forceful engagement to be acknowledged and get a refill while we stood at the counter. 

Food quality is pretty good, but the service really needs to come up and they clearly need to work on planning so that a table gets its food at the right time and order.

This place was great very friendly and the food was delicious! Especially being by the water what a great view! I recommend the grilled chicken California sandwhich!😜
