BEST HOLE-IN-THE-WALL PIZZA PLACE in Morro Bay

The building may not look like much, but this is by far the best homemade pizza for miles around & the staff is super cool & friendly.
They have good lunch specials during the day &, if you miss lunch, the slices (1/4 pizza) are reasonably priced & there is a nice variety of regular & gourmet toppings to choose from. If you have a large party, the whole pizza prices aren't bad, either.
They make everything to order, so you don't have to worry about how long an iffy-looking slice has been sitting under the heat lamp! (Like you might at OTHER pizza places that we will not mention.)
Overall, Sabettas is a great place to eat, hang out, chat & use the (free) WiFi.

Quaint little pizza place with great food and great service. We ordered the Sabetta's Special and it was really good ... Fresh home made crust with fresh ingrediants. The place only has six tables and it was packed the entire time we were there.

Who knew the best slice of pizza I've ever had would be in Morro Bay?
They have a nice selection of slices, and the best part is they don't make it till you order it. How unexpectedly refreshing to not see a heat lamp counter! Because of this, expect a 10 minute wait for it to be ready, maybe a little longer if they're busy cause its usually only one guy running the joint. I got the Margarita slice and ate every last crumb of it. So damn good. I bought two slices (one for myself and one for my boyfriend), plus two drinks for about $8 bucks, so it's pretty cheap eats if you're on a budget.
I don't know about their subs or pastas, but I'm sure they're just as delicious as their pizza.

Joe Sabetta moved out from San Luis Obispo to Morro Bay in the late 1990s, then he moved to Hawaii and let his daughter run the business. She finally sold it to a new owner. But one guy "Hoss" has been there through it all and still makes a great pizza, even though I'd prefer larger chunks of Italian sausage on mine.
Sabetta's is next to Legends bar and you can order through a pass-through window, allowing your friends to keep selecting from probably the best inventory of spirits on the coast. They also have 13 beers on tap, including hard-to-find Murphy's Irish Stout.
Sabetta's only has bottled beer, but a fair selection if you are eating in their cozy Main Street restaurant which looks out on downtown Morro Bay. I recommend their Italian Sub and usually find a half size fills me up. They serve it with a vinaigrette dressing--provolene, ham, salami, lettuce, tomato and onion. About $5. and toast it in their pizza oven.

Last year I stopped by this place with the fam after YEARS of vacationing (even getting married in 97) in Morro Bay and had a delightful dinner of Pizza, Salad and a couple Sub sandwiches. SO during a brief stay in Cayucos with more family we decided to return and have some pizza.
We ordered a small 8 inch cheese and a medium pepperoni, sausage, mushroom and olives. The crust was doughy on the inside and had a nice crisp outside. The sauce was tangy, not too sweet or bitter. The Sausage and Pepperoni were spicy and flavorful but the cheese was my favorite part. Super buttery and wonderfully creamy. After we were finished the owner brought out tiramisu and a sampling of the deserts they offer. They were truly delightful. 4 stars only because it's so tiny you can only fit a handful of people at the same time. Thanks Sabetta's I'll be back in June!
