The outhouses smelled terrible! I've dealt with a lot of outhouses, but you could hardly stand these.

This Canpground is where McDermott Estates was located between 1969-1974. Our family purchased the property after our Father died in 1969. We lived there beginning in 1958 and attended school in Ortonville, Mi. there was a total of 80 acres owned by the state that included Wildwood Lake, that bordered our property to McGinnis Road. our property bordered Wildwood Road McGinnis Road and If you notice a faint line to the spring fed Lake. As kids groing up we worked a garden the size of a football field, we fished what is now Oakland County Parks and Recreation by Grange Hall Road and McGinnis Road. Doctor Matthews owned that property and Was converted to the present day Park by Jackie Wilson (/Harmon/Lucas) about 1963 and installed first Juke Box.
