I was really disappointed, I had high hopes after seeing the tic toks and reviews. The restaurant is in a good location & the decor is cute inside. however, it’s really cramped inside. The person sitting behind you, is pretty much your conjoined twin. They are priced pretty high for the portion size, $26 for a small piece of catfish & a scoop of grits is not ideal. My shrimp and sausage were burnt, but the plating was nice. The only reason I gave two stars instead of one is due to the staff being nice, for the amount of people there it should have been more people helping them serve. The biscuits were really good. I wouldn’t go back. I would recommend giving it a try with caution. I probably went on a off day, a possible understaffed day. Based on the other reviews my experience isn’t their standard. See for yourself ‍
Scrumptious! I’m really surprised at the 1 star reviews because my experience was totally different. The staff were friendly, attentive and kind. It’s cozy and cute inside! love the house rules - they create a much more intimate dining experience. We ordered the Raggedy Anne and the Breakfast sandwich and ate basically everything we could fit into our bodies. We initially thought the servings were small and they ended up being perfect!
Clean. Cozy. Great location. Excellent service. Excellent food. And Black Owned. Had the blackened salmon with creamy grits, turkey bacon and a mint lemonade. Absolutely delicious. An exceptional experience.
All of the food we ordered was amazing! Had the French toast with banana, chicken and waffles, biscuits, shrimp and grits. Portions were plentiful and it was more than enough for the four of us. Also, the service was phenomenal! Can’t recommend it highly enough!
Breakfast was amazing, as you can see from the before and after of the James Brown. Perfect. Drove up from DC so we could get there when it opened. Great service and staff were warm and friendly. It was a beautiful morning. Thank you. Will drive up again just to get breakfast. Worth the trip.
This restaurant is quaint and cozy but what sets it apart from others is it’s food and staff! They food is simply delicious and made me feel like I was eating my grandma’s cooking. The staff Jasmin was prompt, professional and just perfect! The only reason that I am not giving them a 5 is because the portion sizes were a tad smaller than what I/we were expecting but is that really a bad thing because most of us don’t eat the correct portion size anyways? So let’s give them a 4.75. I highly recommend the cucumber lemonade-its so refreshing. My family loved the grits and salmon, the French toast, and okay we had a little of everything and It all!
At 1pm they were sold out of what we really wanted catfish and crab cake...What we ordered food was Terrible. Chicken burnt, Salmon burnt, creamy grits...DRY, Tiny portions of shrimp and Grits, tiny glasses no free refills. Sent chicken back and they came back and say they ran outta chicken too. Rules on the table says this is a couple restaurant won't seat more than 6 people, Cash ONLY, No food substitutes, the food is what it is, and an hour limit at table from the time you order. Yeah wont fet our money anymore....Our waitress April was really nice.
Such a cozy and relaxed atmosphere, great drinks and service. I've passed by a few times and this is a gem? I'm so glad we decided to go in. The outside is a bit deceiving. It looks small but it's quite large and open once you walk in. The food is portioned well so you don't feel like you have to stuff yourself and it is SO tasty. The recipes have been perfected. Know the rules ;
Their drinks are the best I’ve ever had, however they could use a bit more alcohol. The food was okay. Standard breakfast items but nothing that really blew my mind. Wish the service was a bit more warm and friendly. I had chicken and waffles but they gave me fried fish; no apology or anything just gave me some fried chicken. Overall, it’s a very cute little brunch spot.
Absolutely delicious and a wonderful atmosphere!! Family got Down n Dirty pictures and Full Monty, as well as biscuits and grits on the side — so delicious. The food is very filling but the portions are reasonable! And highly recommend the banana pudding for dessert
