Several friends and I would frequently go to Hometown Buffet, enjoying the variety of foods and taking advantage of the 1 PM to 3 PM 'Senior Discount' which included a beverage. In the past 2 years, their prices soared--their fried chicken, gravy...and other foods were so salty, it was difficult to palate. Their Mac & Cheese, which was a favorite of many was dry and overlooked. Now, their lunch 'discount' hours are 2-4 PM! Hometown Buffet closed in Chico CA. It probably won't be long before ours closes as well. Too bad! It used to be a great...and FUN place to eat!

I love hometown and the frequent coupons we receive from them. I do think the women's bathroom however could use some TLC one stall Yas no lock on it and the stall walls look like they could use some freshining up. The grits have gotten better too

This trip was absolutely UNDERWHELMING. The food was dry, hard and old. I came at 5:14 and the only thing that was rotated was the white fish. Only because it sat so long, it was strunken and hard. I had to ask for fresh French bread because it was hard enough to throw and break a window. Heavy handed on the salt. The freshest and best part of the meal was the ice cream. This place shows how little the staff cares.

I had two hot dog buns that had mold on it. The food was cold and flavorless. Then a woman with a dog on her lap came in. They said there was nothing they could legally do about it , Even though the dog was licking the counter and plates I would not recommend this place to anyone

Just awful. Not only had the food been sitting out for, what I could only guess was hours, but the hostess was tired and unwelcoming. I get being over worked, but you could tell she wasn't trying. Melancholy voice amd no sales tact. Back to the food, the mac & cheese had been sitting out so long it curdled. Unapologetically disgusting. The other food was just as bad. The only saving grace was the desserts but after around 34 dollars for two people, I'd say its just not worth it. This place needs a serious food make over.
