Preventive Care
The major emphasis of our practice is on the prevention of dental disease. We believe that dental education, attention to home health care habits and regular preventive care can preclude the need for much dental treatment.

Restorative Dentistry
When teeth have been damaged by cavities or normal wear and tear, restorative dentistry provides the solution for improved chewing as well as a prettier smile. When a tooth is broken, decayed, or lost, there are many options to restore your smile to health. We will help you to determine which one is best for you.

Fillings and Replacement Fillings
Dental fillings (restorations) may last many years before they need replacing. However, constant pressure from chewing, grinding, and clenching may cause a filling to wear away, chip, or even fall out. Dr. Asha J. Vellanki can add new fillings or replace old fillings with several methods at her disposal. There are many alternative ways to restore teeth today. These modern fillings can actually strengthen rather than weaken teeth. They involve no mercury or metals. These new methods also leave your teeth looking and feeling very natural. Today's adhesive dental restorations can dramatically decrease tooth cracking and the need for root canal treatment in many cases.

Bridges
Dental health may suffer in many areas when teeth are not replaced. Nearby teeth tilt in, or the teeth in the opposite jaw may move up or down towards the space, creating uneven stresses. Dr. Asha J. Vellanki can insert bridges to replace missing teeth, as well as create implants and crowns to restore your mouth to proper function.
Now there is an alternative to dentures! Dr. Asha J. Vellanki specializes in dental implants that can be used to replace one or many missing teeth. They look so much like natural teeth that only a dentist can tell the difference.

All Porcelain Crowns and Bridges
Crowns: Crowns are needed to support a tooth when not enough tooth structure is remaining. We specialize in using crowns to:

• Cover Badly Shaped or Discolored Teeth
• Strengthen Fractured or Cracked Teeth Protect Weak Teeth
• Restore Fractured Teeth

Porcelain Veneers: If you have misshapen teeth, unsightly gaps, or deep discoloration, porcelain veneers may be the answer. Veneers are thin porcelain coverings that fit over, and are bonded to your teeth. Veneers can be very natural and life-like, and dramatically change the appearance of your smile. With Dr. Vellanki this transformation can take place in as little as two visits.

Periodontal Diseases
Gingivitis: Often reversible gum disease caused by toxins, bacteria and plaque which irritate the gums, making them red, tender, swollen, and easy to bleed, can be corrected through nonsurgical procedures oftentimes with the aid of antibiotics. This can be diagnosed by measuring pockets with a periodontal probe and a full mouth set of X-rays.
Periodontitis: Occurs when the toxins destroy the tissue that anchors teeth to the bone. This can be detected using X-rays and periodontal probings. The sooner it is found, the quicker it can be treated. This early detection can help prevent tooth loss. Our office treats the early stages of periodontal disease and can refer you to a periodontist, should your condition warrant this.

Dr. Asha Vellanki received her Bachelors Degree in Dental Surgery from Madras, India and her D.D.S. (Doctor of Dental Surgery) from Loma Linda School of Dentistry in California. Dr. Vellanki is board certified and a member of the American Dental Association and the Georgia Dental Association. Dr. Vellanki is very dedicated to her patients and believes in comprehensive, courteous and responsive care for her patients. She loves the field of dentistry and is continually updating her knowledge and dental skills by attending many hours of advanced clinical course both locally and throughout the country. Dr. Vellanki resides in Norcross with her husband Sravan and two daughters and is active in many community related activities as well as volunteer programs. Dr. Vellanki looks forward to helping you with your dental needs.
