We visited on a Wednesday evening, so not the typical busy time of the week, in fact you could say it was a very slow evening because the place was not crowded at all. The food was very good but the service was lacking. We only saw our waitress 3 times - when she took our order, when she brought our food out and then when it became necessary to flag her down to ask for the check. I am a very generous tipper and to earn a great trip all I ask is that the server keeps my water glass filled. Needless to say, I didn't feel at all generous that visit. In fairness the manager did come by half way through our meal. 5 stars if not for the missing waitress.

This was our 3rd time to Houlihan’s, the first 2 times were good but not tonight. First the heater wasn’t working ( 2 degrees outside) they seated us at table next to window with cold air blowing from vent above us. We asked to be moved so another booth next to window still too cold. Waiter took our order and we ordered the New Years Eve special but we were told 2 of the 3 choices for dessert were not available. Then waiter returned to tell us they didn’t have any mashed potatoes and it would take another 15 minutes, so we ordered backed potatoes. We asked again for a table away from windows. After they cleared a table we moved and waited for our meal. When the meal came our steaks were cold and we had baked potatoe and French fried which we didn’t order. The answer was it comes with French fries , we should have been told that up front. Requested to have something other than French fries so they offered green beans which were warm. When the waiter asked how our meal was we told him the steaks were cold, we got an I’m sorry but no offer to make it right. Then the manger came and offered to warm our steaks. Also the wives both asked for hot tea but the water was barely warm. The manager explained that they were short handed and that was why things were a little off. I normally don’t give bad reviews but this was the worst experience I have had at a restaurant especially since our previous 2 times were better. I was surprised at receiving the full charge on the bill. Not sure if we will go back. It seems they were totally unprepared for the night especially when they were not crowded.

Always a great experience when we visit. This time was no exception. Our server/bartender, Joey, was very friendly and attentive. The food was amazing! Try the meatloaf, it was delicious! The $18 three course special, was worth every penny and more. We will certainly be back for more.

We visited this restaurant at 6pm on a Friday. The fact that it was 90% empty should have been a sign to us. We were first seated at a booth by a window, with an air vent blowing cold air on us. We finally asked to be moved, which we were. Another couple was seated there after we moved, and they, too, asked to be moved. So it wasn't just us. We ordered steaks and baked potatoes. After a while the waiter came back and said he just learned they only had one baked potato left. Seriously? On a Friday evening at the start of the peak dinner run and they are out of baked potatoes? He offered one of us mashed potatoes instead, which I took. When our food arrived, it was barely warm. The asparagus was flat cold, all 5 sticks of it. To make things worse, I had ordered garlic green beans, not asparagus. That was what my wife ordered. Hers was cold, too. We mentioned it to the waiter and he was sympathetic but offered no resolution. I would have expected at least an offer to warm the plates, or perhaps a visit from the manager. Failing that, maybe a little credit on the bill. Nothing. Full bill, another apology for the food not being the way we wanted it, and thanks for coming in. It wasn't the fault of the waiter that the food was cold, but the rest was. I cut his tip to 15% and we vowed never to return. This was our first visit to this Houlihans, and our last. I'm sorry to give such a negative review. We aren't the kind to complain. But this was in the top 5 of the worst dining experiences in the last several years. I give 2 stars instead of 1 because the steak (12 Oz KC strip) was cooked right, and was pretty good, just not hot. The asparagus was inedible and the mashed potatoes were barely above room temperature.

The food was fantastic and the Mary did a fantastic job. Because of her I will be back. But Emily Livingston stood by the bar joking and chit chatting instead of running the store. The rest of the employees where doing a fantastic job.
