Adopted Winston Sunday 7/30/17 - what a doll baby he is!!! Very thin but he is eating two squares a day and has a great appetite - loves the organic dog biscuits I got him! He and my female chi, Tinker(belle) get along great and they run and chase constantly! He found all her toys the first day home and brings them to you to throw - fetch is his game! He is 100% perfect on the pee pads and not 1 accident - sweet and lovable! At bed time, both chi's jump into our bed and dive under the covers to sleep in doggy bliss! Made an appt. with the clinic to get his teeth cleaned..he is one happy dog and we are very happy pup parents! Pic to come We have re-named Winston to Tater! Yeah, Sweet Tater and Tater Chips! So now our two Chi's start with T's- Tinker and Tater! :)

I took my dog to their clinic for a neutering procedure. Great staff & service! The only thing I would have liked was a quicker response time from their online appointment service, which took them almost a month to reply. I understand they a busy facility, but when they suggest to make an appointment via online instead of calling them since it would be faster, I would expect a faster response time. Other then that, it was an overall good experience and very affordable neutering/spaying prices!

The people at the front desk were of no help. They only answer they gave us whenever we would ask a question is "I don't know". We were looking to adopt and just wanted to know when we would be able to and if not when then where they would be sending their pets to be adopted. They were unable to answer anything and didn't offer to find out either. We don't even know who to contact if and when they do decide to open adoptions. Also it said specifically online that adoptions were open today. They did not specify that they would not be adopting out anything. It just would have gone a lot better if they answered with anything other than "I don't know"

We adopted a dog from here (Dory) about four months ago, never regret it. It has been a loving, meaningful, and compassionate experience for our family. Thank you HHS for making it possible, and for the wonderful volunteers and staff there dedicated to helping the animals! :-)

I've always assumed Humane Societies were full of amazing people who loved animals, but this location was an absolute let down. My boyfriend and I found the sweetest dog today in our apartment neighborhood on Shadow Creek Pkwy that had a collar and looked well taken care of. After some playtime and feeding him, we decided to take him to the nearby humane society in the case that he was not abandoned and his family would look for him. We got there at 5:30 on a Friday and whoever came outside stated extremely rudely, that they were just trying to go home and that they don't take dogs on Fridays. We stated that we came because we were told they closed at 6 and it would be fine. This lady was more concerned about who gave us that information and kept rolling her eyes and made us feel as if we were a burden for coming and trying to do the right thing. We felt horribly about leaving him with people that treated us and him like a problem. At this point my boyfriend who's a Houston Firefighter and huge animal lover, became upset and told them that they shouldn't have such a poor attitude when their job is to care for these animals and do right by them. They started to get defensive and argue back instead of changing their attitude after seeing we were clearly bothered by this interaction with them. The lady kept saying they don't take animals on Fridays and finally said they'll take him and began pulling him in by his leash. I asked if I could leave him with a Kong toy full of peanut butter that I had brought with us and another employee said no and to just throw it away. Unbelievable. I left in tears regretting coming to this place and feeling like I failed in trying to do the right thing. These employees were so unprofessional and definitely portrayed themselves as people who were in the wrong field. I understand that situations can sometimes be inconvenient, but that's like me as a nurse getting upset that a patient comes into my hospital needing treatment and my assistance when my shift is almost over...or like my firefighter partner having an ugly attitude towards someone reporting something that requires his help because he's busy or about to go home. I regret not getting the names of the 2 employees and volunteer that we interacted with but I wouldn't mind going back to point them out. I hope they are kind to that sweet pup and better yet that he is found by his owners so he can get out of that place. Management of this local organization should really clean house and not allow people to represent their company so poorly.
