Full Service Jewelry Store Specializing in Custom and Repairs Done in Our Open Studio & Storefront on Main Street in New Paltz

Story

Our on-site custom workshop is headed by David A. Walton. David started making fine jewelry as a teenager, is a graduate of SUNY New Paltz, receiving his BFA in Metals. He also worked as a stone setter and fabricator making high end jewelry for Tiffany and Co.

Since opening in 2012 we have grown our talented team of goldsmiths who can design and make any piece of jewelry for you.

You can see us at work in our open studio and store front where we make and repair jewelry in house as well as carry the work of other jewelry artists.

If you're suspicious of all the 5/5s, take a trip to the store. 

Their reputation is splendid and deservedly so. I took in a new ring for sizing and a necklace for restringing. The jewelers bring terrific training and experience to the client. They are determined to do just the right thing for you and the jewelry you buy or have repaired.

Not only was my ring re-sized correctly, it was cleaned up and the previous re-sizing marks were polished away. (The ring & necklace were bought elsewhere.)

Brie was my favorite: Smart, well-trained and kind. I love people who know their business including how to treat customers with genuine interest in the outcome of their transaction at the store.

Working with David and his staff was a truly 5 star experience! The store is lovely, filled with beautifully made and displayed items in a broad range of styles. My husband and I had planned to "upgrade" my wedding ring. David sat with us to discuss ideas. He struck just the right balance between helpful ideas and following our lead. He helped us pick out a beautiful stone, and then custom designed an absolutely beautiful ring around it. I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Hudson Valley Goldsmith.

Hudson Valley Goldsmith is the very best! Dave and his professional staff are talented, dedicated, thorough, creative, and kind, and will go out of their way to help you in whatever you may need, be it a jewelry repair, or a creative way to use an old piece, or in helping you choose a new piece suited exactly for you.  
Their jewelry selection is simply exquisite.  I cannot recommend them highly enough!

My experience with HVG was nothing short of wonderful.  I visited their shop to search for the perfect ring for my wife, and was welcomed by some amazingly talented and creative artists.  We collaborated on a custom ring that turned out more beautiful than I ever imagined.  More importantly my wife was extremely happy.  Not only will they work with your ideas, they have plenty of beautiful pieces ready for you to admire.  I can't wait to visit them again.

Not only does everything here always exceed expectations in terms of jewelry, but their customer service does as well!!  Anytime I’ve ever had any issue, concern, or just needed a little extra hand holding the staff here was more than willing to take care of it all.  I can not recommend this store enough!
