Get the Hot Pot. You can get half and half. Awesome food. The lamb is awesome. The Hunan House gets busy. Get there before the dinner rush. We ate lunch there during Chinese New Year Parade. We were good with getting a table since the restaurant is on the edge of the tourist stuff. Be ready for spicy food if you get the hot pot. If you have a nasal infection the hot pot will clear it out. Let food be your best medicine.

i was here for a quick lunch. dumplings were very good and the fried noodle with beef were good as well. very abundant portions, i recommend this place!

Restaurant is nice but the food was not up to the mark. Very bland. Ordered Beef Ramen soup with Explosive Pepper. I was surprised to find that it was not hot at all. Finally, decided to add chili oil - again it was totally bland. I won’t recommend - I am sure you’d find better food in China town.

This is an average Chinese foods family owned business runs.. It combines of Hunan flavors & mainland Hot chill oil cooking  & some schzewan spicy flavors2.. 
*we loved their hunan-cold-chicken & stir fry green beans.. but not their hot & sour soup.. *(too sour..extremely closed your eyes after 1 r2 taste, & also over season white pepper powder.. gave me a burning taste in my tummy..) *overall the hot & sour soup was over seasoning..
We also ordered the mapo-tofu.. I didn't like the taste of it2.. think it was over seasonings in some kind of Hunan spice.. tasted a little bitterness with 2much herbal spicy taste.. *(we made that mapo-Tofu @home better),. Just want2 try how Hunan mapo-Tofu taste. .  Saw others customers order other  Hunan specialty plates & special-trays2,. But it's looks too oily.. 2much hot chilly-oilss 4us..so we skips those specialty orders.. they also have Hunan hotpot2.. *(I recommend go2 a hotpot specialty restaurant,*iPot in SF 5*****)

Don't order there or any regular Chinese restaurant. . Because they're not specialty in hotpot.. & give u very limited of meats & veggies.. & their quality usually not good & fresh as all u can eat buffet hotpots.. 
Overall, this Hunan house restaurant is ok.. foods to eat, services kinda slow.. because of family owned. . Saw only 6peoples there,  but parent only help cleans & sets tables..
**should try Hunan **HOME(on Jackson st.), we likes that Hunan restaurant better.. better cooking & flavors & services2..::))

You need to wait a little bit, but it worth it. Amazing and delicious food, excellent service after the wait. When I come back to SF, I'll go again!!
