This place forever changed my life. My Dad went into urgent care for an enlarged prostate, that took hours just to get him in when he was in excruciating pain. They ended up admitting him to do some tests. I don't want to give every detail so, long story short, on the last day they changed his blood pressure medication which dropped it significantly, when he went to get ready he started to feel unwell. He called a nurse in who took so long to get to him and when she entered the room said what's wrong and my Dad said I don't feel well. She couldn't understand him and he passed out BREAKING HIS NECK AND BECOMING FULLY PARALYZED. She was close enough to have at least tried to help him not fall. There are some really kind amazing nurses here but unfortunately there is just too little that really care. I would know because I spend the next 3 months watching my Dad suffer. And the doctors don't care either. We had only one doctor who genuinely cared. I was full of anger and hate for this place and didn't think I could ever forgive them but I did. I would hope this hospital could be held more accountable for the damage they could cause in just a moment, but that will never happen. So for anyone looking for a hospital please be careful where your loved one goes. I love you Dad, you're forever in my heart. Until we meet again.
Don't bother visiting the ER unless you're literally dying. The reception staff is rude and you'll never be seen unless you're willing to wait 7 or 8 hours. Glendale Adventist or Verdugo Hills are better bets and they're on 10 minutes away. I had so many positive experiences her in past but times have changed and not for the better.
I had severe stomach pains and walked into the ER. After waiting 2 hours with no action, I left. One week later, the pains came back strong and had to call 911. Ambulance takes me to this same hospital. Snotty nurse chirps: "Do we know him?" as they wheel me in. Turned out I needed gall bladder surgery. Yes, I had insurance, but unless you're wheeled in on a gurney, you may well not be seen.
I do not know what happened here, this used to be one of the better emergency rooms. Now they have you sharing little rooms with other patients. What about privacy? I can literally hear the other patients diagnoses. Why are these rooms not private or at least curtained off. The wait time is also long. I’m wondering what do we have to do to get another level 2 er so that we can have adequate care for folks in the region. It was not like this before Cedar-Sinai took over. They literally got rid of beds in er and put chairs. WTH this is ridiculous. I will avoid coming here unless I have no choice.
I always recommend this hospital because it is a one stop shop, they have everything you need and it is so convenient and efficient. The staff are kind, helpful, knowledgeable and patient. They try to go above and beyond for you to make sure patient is safe to go home. Love their private rooms that offers a small bed if guests want to stay with their loved ones overnight.
Location: Good, Parking: Okay, Masks: Required, Cafeteria: Open, On site shop:Open, Overall: This was a first time entrance into this hospital. You know it's gonna cost when you see a valet outside the front door. Still you can park yourself but you still half to pay a parking fee. The place upon entrance is very nice. Although I was not having surgery as my friend was, I did feel like it was a decent place to be. Now as of this review she has had her surgery already pushed back which does not make me comfortable and her accommodations prior to surgery seem drab and almost dungeon like. I am crossing my fingers that after surgery she will give me a better picture of where she is as how she is being treated. Now that we are senior in age we should get more respect for what we have done especially her as a 911 dispatch...
I've been at this hospital a few times and every time I am treated very well. The service has been amazing, the doctors and nurses are great. When I come here I know that I will be treated well. Most definitely recommend.
There was a Dr there named Robert O’Dell that changed my life by properly diagnosing me. He was 84 in 2012 so I doubt he is still with us. He and his wife and their team helped me learn about my mental illness and set me on the right path. 100/5 Thank you. <3
Emergency room is not for emergencies at all. I spent 6h waiting for a rabies shot. One more hour waiting the papers before being able to leave.
My brother-in-law was just admitted late last night. Found out this morning and headed straight there to console my sister who was emotional stressed. From the front receptionist to the nurses, patient care coordinator and doctors, everyone was so helpful and caring. It really helps the patient and their family feel much at ease when they see how much they care and the attention that’s put into their work. I am so thankful my brother-in-law is in great hands.
