I purchased a home in West Linn from Icon in February 2017. Our street has 5 homes that were finished within 4 months of each other. All 5 home owners are displeased with the finish work such as painting, drywall, cabinetry, flooring, lighting, and cabinetry, etc and the follow through to repair these items. My home issues have ranged from unfinished painting, extensive mold on exterior walls, poorly hung doors, dings and holes in doors, quarter round molding separating from walls, poor wall texture, over sprayed paint onto windows and floors, poorly placed grout with exposed holes in showers, mismatched tile flooring, shower glass separating from walls and so on. I am embarrassed that I did not spot more of these issues, to a major extent, even though some I pointed out during the final walk through. To Icon's defense, some issues they did repair, but only after I screamed and shouted and kept emailing the supervisor. The remaining bulk of the issues I have personally repaired because I can and I do not want the sloppy subcontractors who placed them originally to touch my home now! At one point I discussed my issues with the other new home owners and some in the group contemplated a law suit. Since that time, I brought my costly lawyer into the mix to expedite a pending issue with my deck that Icon is lagging on and blaming on a subcontractor - exemplifying Icon's main issue - no responsibility and no follow through on poor workmanship. I have taken the additional step to review Icon here because some of the other owners stated fear to post reviews of their homes - they feel a future buyer will read this and not want to buy their home. Hopefully they will resolve their issues before they sell and that won't be a factor. Even so, the warning to buyers is this: Icon construction provides a home with poorly done finish work, poor craftsmanship, and poor integrity. Your happiness is prolonged by lagging repairs, additional personal costs, and poor communication. If you choose to purchase, please remember you were forewarned!

I used to work for Icon Construction. I've worked for several builders in my career. This is by far the best company I've worked for. The management wants to do the right thing, even when it comes at a cost to the company. The subcontractors are loyal and professional, because Icon treats them right. The owner cares about his customers and employees. In the theee years I worked there, I've never seen a corner cut. I would recommend buying one of their houses, and they are beautiful. I hope someday to buy an Icon home.

The home we bought appeared to be well constructed. Structurally, there are no issues. However, they did a horrible job with finish work, finishes, products, and vendors. I would never recommend working with Icon to anyone, in fact, I have told several friends and family to never use them or buy from them. We had problems with their vendors during our one year follow up never following up and fixing and finishing their work. The drywall and taping was the worst I have ever seen in any home anywhere. And it was never fixed after being fixed. We had problems with them changing things on our plans and then telling us they had the authorization to redline things they felt necessary without telling us. This caused a huge problem with our upstairs bathroom that we then spent several hundred dollars fixing. Horrible company, horrible management.

I have lived in an Icon home for more than two years now and appreciate the quality of my home more and more. The attention to detail is unmatched and they have fixed all the problems that have come up.
