I had a month trial at the closed Burlington Creek location and my boyfriend had a membership. After a few days notice, they closed. I switched over to this location and continued my month pass. At this location and Burlington, we were promised to have the (nicer) equipment from Burlington moved to this gym and an expansion. Although this location was not as glamorous, the promises seemed...promising. They began moving the Burlington Creek location's nice equipment in. So at the expiration of my pass, I signed up. It was cheap to sign up under my boyfriends account so I did. I was immediately charged double the amount I was supposed to be. I began using the nice Burlington Creek equipment in the expanded area. Then all the sudden the next day, the door is shut with a sign on it that says it is only for those in the barbell club to use. We initially signed up at the Burlington Creek location, so we should be able to have access to that equipment. I find it to be extremely unethical and poor business practice to advertise an expansion and the new equipment to not allow old members of the Burlington Creek location to use the equipment that they initially signed up for. The extra cost to access the nice equipment is too high when we used to pay the same amount to use it at the other location. The lifting equipment outside of the "restricted" area is broken and run down. After the few days notice on the closing of Burlington, the overcharge, and now this... I'm leaving the gym. Unfortunately since I was overcharged I have to wait another month till I can leave. I wish I had better things to say.

I love this place but it needs more toning machines for women. Every woman doesn't want to look like a body builder/bulk up.

Used to go to the gym location off Tom Watson until they closed it down with no notice given to members. On day 1 I was promised a free one on one session with a trainer who canceled on me twice and forgot about 4 months in to where it was pointless for me to pursue. After the one gym closed and they moved to the N. Oak Trafficway location I went to try it out and was overall not satisfied with the location and the added 20 minute drive. The expanded location has broken equipment everywhere and the nice equipment is in the expanded turf room which will be rumored to cost more to use.

This gym only gets 1 star because I can't select 0, and maybe they deserve 1 for the equipment.  If you're looking for a gym that fosters group accountability, this gym isn't for you. The trainers and owners seem to be aligned with not making money off of memberships and caring for their members, yet are focused on making money off of personal training. To them, groups of friends working out together is prohibited and automatically assumed "group training" especially if you have one or more skilled, athletically built members in the group. Our membership was pulled due to the assumption that my husband and the other member's friend was "freelance training" and making money from the training...that he was "being paid in the parking lot". When the reality is, is that we are a group of friends who started working out together to train for a race and ended up loving the accountability and camaraderie it fostered. We truly did enjoy the gym and it's atmosphere at 1st and all of the great equipment it has to offer for creative workouts.  Yet the judgement and harassment working out here brought was unacceptable and truly disappointing. Especially for being "true gym". This statement is a joke!

Lets start this review by saying that this gym is locally owned, and is not owned by some big corporation. I love that everyone is there for a purpose. All the members and staff I have encountered are very friendly. Very knowledgeable training staff to help you achieve whatever goals you may have. Overall a great fitness community for people beginning their fitness journey to those who are well seasoned.
