The initial job was not completed to my satisfaction. After communicating and a visit from Chuck (foreman) the job was completed this past Monday that met all of my expectations and more. The three workers (Brandon A., Jeremy P., and Steven T.) worked late into the evening to complete the job. All three were very professional and knowledgeable. Impressed with all three! Thank you for a job well done.

Josh was efficient, friendly and did a great job explaining what he was doing. I had a vertical crack in the basement wall. Very good service and easy to deal with.

Had our basement waterproofed last week and couldn't be happier with the crew and the work. Steve and his crew were courteous, professional, and timely. Highly recommend IFS.

Definitely not a complete failure, but even 2 stars may be generous. We hired IFS to do joist repair, sill plate removal and repair, and install 85 ft of I beams to help stabilize a house we recently bought in Indianapolis. I would rate the quality of the work that was done by the actual laborers 3 stars. Working down there is not fun nor easy and and they went beyond what the quoted job was on a few instances, but they also showed up late and left early the second day and left the hatch to our crawl space open and a thunderstorm rolled through that evening sending more water into our crawlspace! My main problem with IFS is their management and job bidding process. They would receive a one star rating. I spoke with the foreman that was at our house almost everyday, the guy down in the trenches, and he seemed quite puzzled at how our bid was compiled. As I mentioned before they had to do extra joist repair just to be able to complete the I beam runs. There was also discrepancy as to which sill plate needed repaired and to where the I beam runs were needed. After the work was completed I found a bid we had received from another contractor that included much more sill plate and joist repair work that was about half the cost of IFS. We were assured by the employee who came out to make the bid that the I beams would bring our floor back to level, the informational pamphlets he gave us said the same thing, yet when the workers were here they gave the impression that the beams were not to lift and return to level but only to stabilize and stop any further sinking. See the pictures below, the pamphlet that says the I beams will level the floors, the bid diagram, and pictures of a spot on the bid diagram where one of the I beams is directly below, but you can see the floors have not been returned to level. It is my belief after going through the process of working with IFS and reading other online reviews that the employee who came out to do the bid works on commission and that I beam work was quoted at the max and joist/sill plate work was under quoted. I believe this was to increase this employees profit, the I beam work was probably 70% of the cost of the total bid, and less out of concern for us the homeowners. This commission based model may work fine for car sales or cell phones but is in my opinion unacceptable in the building trades, you end up with a complete disconnect between the person quoting a job and the actual people doing the work. (The contractor who did our complete roof teardown and rebuild was there for the bid and the complete roof demolition and rebuild process.) This also highlights another managerial problem that this creates, our job was quoted to take three days, the first day only the foreman and a general laborer showed up, the said they were a man down, usually a three man team. The second day the foreman didn't show,(absences occur, I understand)and it was obvious the two guys that did show were general laborers and didn't know how to properly execute the job at hand, they left early and they were also the ones who left the hatch down in the crawl space the night of the storm. All in all i think it took 6 or 7 days to complete the work. Truthfully I feel bad for the employees of IFS as they go out there and do the really backbreaking work and it seems to be negated by poor management. Maybe it's just buyers remorse but I don't feel the job IFS did was worth the price of a new car.
