First floor tax assistance help, etc located here. So I arrive here with my wife today to discuss taxes etc. We have an appointment at 2:45pm the receptionist says oh? Only 15 minutes? That won't give you enough time. We are like, it will be plenty for today. Then she's like oh, well we are an hour behind. I might have to cancel you and change it for a different date. We are like no, we just talked to who we were supposed to talk to earlier. And she said we would be good then. Receptionist was like well she leaves at 3. We are like, no worries we will stay and get this figured out. Wonder if she's moody today or if that's normal here. Picture of her below. Dated: 5-2-17

Some people I've actually been able to speak with have tried to be helpful. However it would be more helpful if their jobs were done correctly from the jump. A lot of letters back and forth for corrections instead of reviewing the entire tax return and then sending it back to me telling me everything to correct all at once. Happened last year as well. Something's got to give.

I was on hold for over 2 hours and finally got ahold of someone. They hung up on me because I told him my husband and I were by a fax machine instead of just me. Horrible customer service!!

I have been waiting patiently" on my tax return since February and still not a letter or check in the mail it's not alot but they owe me.

I went to simply drop off my tax return, because I have had issues with identity theft on my taxes in the past and was told by the IRS to drop them of in the future. They now have this appointment only policy, when in the past it was first come first serve. I asked if I could simply drop my return off due to past identity theft and was told to make an appointment. Really? I just want to hand you this folder and let you send it off. I need to leave, call and 800 number, talk to someone across the country, wait on hold for 30 minutes, then request and appointment, then take half a day off work so I can go to my IRS appointment like I'm going to the doctor. It is a complete joke. If you're paid by my tax dollars, there needs to be an atmosphere of service. Pretend like you want to help me a little bit. You cannot call the IRS without it taking 3 hours, then the person can't even help you. You can't stop by on your lunch break to drop your tax return off. The IRS is built to be as painful as possible. There is zero customer service, zero initiative to help anyone, it is all about shewing people away in an attempt to work as little as possible. There was 1 person waiting when I walked in, but you are too busy to take my return from my hand and send it in. I can only hope all the talk of abolishing the IRS soon actually happens for a simpler way to do taxes.
