I'm sorry to hear that one customer felt she was misled about issues of kashrut. But I was up in that area and decided to try the place anyway, and am glad I did. It was not crowded, and I was well treated, even though the woman who waited on me didn't speak English very well. I got three things to take home. One was good (my wife liked it better than I did) and the other two were really excellent. There's a very large selection, so you're bound to find something you like. Bottom line: I'll be back.

Long story short: STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! NOT WORTH IT!!! First of all, they do not have good manners. They are very condescending and treat you as if you are below them. Now on to the details; I purchased a cake from this bakery for my wedding. For a bakery, especially a Kosher bakery they should be required to know the rules and regulations regarding the delivery and transport of a cake. Prior to the event I had clarified and informed them that the Glatt Kosher restaurant we were holding the reception in required the cake to be delivered in a completely closed, sealed box with the kosher sticker on it. They assured me that they would do so and I had nothing to worry about. Well, was I wrongly informed! Not only did the owner Simon deliver the cake in a completely open box (it shouldn't even be called a box, it only had 3 sides to it and the cake was completely exposed which made it invalid as a Kosher cake), he took it out and placed it on the bar with a piping bag right next to it. Upon receipt of the cake, the owner of the Glatt Kosher Restaurant informed Simon that this was unacceptable and they could not serve the cake due to the poor delivery conditions. At this point, Simon then proceeded to berate the owner of the restaurant and told her "Well, they paid for the cake already so I don't care what you do with it". No one, should have to deal with someone so disgusting on their wedding day, that's why the owner of the restaurant tried her hardest to work with Simon to alleviate and fix the situation but he refused to comply. He then left the cake on the bar and walked out of the restaurant with no care in the world. When my husband called him to figure out a solution, Simon then proceeded to yell at him using profane language. With the reception about an hour away there wasn't much we could do. The cake wasn't touched and stood on the side in solitaire. But the beautiful owner of the restaurant surprised us with a Napoleon cake that they were able to put together quickly for our wedding. If it wasn't for her we would have been cakes less. The next day my husband and I delivered the cake that Simon rudely brought to the restaurant back to the bakery. At this point we just wanted our money back. We didn't want to argue. But not only did Simon refuse to answer our calls he then showed up to the bakery late leaving us there waiting for him for a while. He immediately started to say he did everything right and the restaurant owner was wrong. He doesn't know why she hates him and is doing this on purpose (she has never met him before and has no reason to dislike him). Which then his mother chimed in and proceeded to speak to my husband and I in a disgusting manner, putting us down and refusing to give us a refund. At this point we'd had enough and left, leaving the cake there. They should not be able to get away with this so I have made a formal complaint with the Vaad Harabonin of Queens to rectify this situation. The way they handle their business especially with customers isn't Kosher and they shouldn't be able to wrongly deceive people.
