This is the only mosque of dynamic Muslim population serving many spectacular cities along west Pacific Coast to include Carmel, Monterey, Seaside, Marina, and Castroville with occasional attendees and visitors from Salinas, Mose Landing, Santa Cruz, and Bay Area Muslim and non-Muslim communities. Despite very limited resources, the Islamic Society of Monterey offers weekend Islamic teaching programs for kids and holding family gatherings both during weekends and major Islamic holidays. The Imam of this society is a yong but very mature and extremely kind and knowledgeable person.

I was there late for johr prayer. I was afraid that the door would be locked, but the door was opened  and no one was inside. Neighborhood is also very nice. Street parking only, easy to find even during the Friday Jumma prayer.
