Island Native rocks. Friendly staff and great selection of surfboards, bicycles and surfing accessories. Surf instructor, Belle, is the greatest, and Kerry, the owner/mgr., is the nicest guy you could hope to meet. He is kind to everyone , he makes you feel welcome and lets customers know he appreciates their business. This is my most favorite store on South Padre Island!

My favorite surf house in SPI. Excellent selection of surf boards, beach cruiser bicycles, surf clothing, surf accessories, SUP, skateboards and all around great surf house. Great prices. Very knowledgeable staff and can even custom order items...  They even have surfing lessons and rental boards....

Island Native received a negative review because of the restroom.  First off, this is not a public restroom.  The reviewer was not a shopper or customer as she stated, but came in just to use the restroom.  The normal policy is no public access, but we made an exception and allowed her to use our"private" restroom.   She was asked to not make a mess which unfortunately happens much to often when the public is allowed access to the restroom.  There are not a bunch of mouse traps all over the floor as she stated.  There is one trap which the exterminator places under the sink as a preventative measure.  The employees painted a tropical scene mural on the walls and the exposed heater in the restroom is the A/C HVAC system which is enclosed.   Admittedly, the employees don't always keep their restroom sparking clean, we do make every attempt to make it presentable.  A decision was made to let her use the restroom and instead of being grateful, she posts a negative review.  In hindsight, we should have denied her access to our private restroom especially since she wasn't there to shop with Island Native.

This by far is my favorite store on the island!! The staff here is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Great selection and pricing on all clothing and surfboards! Highly recommend. If you need anything from bikes to surf apparel, this is the place to go!

This store was so awesome! The staff was so knowledgeable on what kind of board I should get. Of course me not knowing a damn thing on surfing, they helped me pick out a 6'8 torq and I'm loving it. I even took surfing lessons and got to keep the board for 15 not 25!!!! Not only that but they hooked it up with a rash guard, brand new bikini, and some Olukais, which are some super comfy Sandals that I would have never known about, if it wasn't for Kerry. Thank you guys for giving me an awesome experience and teaching how to surf. Highly recommend!!!!!!
