J. Herbert Williams has over twenty years of experience as a Bankruptcy Lawyer in Ocala, Florida.

Story

My job as your attorney is to do what’s right for you. In your free initial consultation I take pride in having your best interest at heart. I will listen to you, evaluate all aspects of your case and give you my best recommendation. We may recommend bankruptcy – either a Chapter 7 or Chapter 13, or we may tell you that bankruptcy is not the right solution for you and then make other suggestions to solve your financial problems. Education
I attended the University of Virginia and Loyola University in New Orleans and received the degree of Bachelor of Arts in 1977. After working three years in television news broadcasting, I pursued a career in law and received my Juris Doctor Degree from Louisiana State University. I was admitted to the Louisiana Bar in 1984 and admitted to the Florida Bar in 1986.

Credentials
I am a member of the Florida Bar, the Louisiana State Bar Association, U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, the Jacksonville Bankruptcy Bar Association, the Marion County Bar Association and the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys. I have practiced law in Marion County, Florida for over 25 years and have focused my practice on bankruptcy law for over 20 years.

Community and Family
I am involved in our community, volunteering with many cultural and social organizations including — former president of the board of directors for the Ocala Civic Theatre (appeared on stage in several productions) — coached my children’s Big Sun Soccer teams and am currently an avid biker.  I am a father of three, with one son at the University of Tennessee, another son attending the University of Central Florida and a daughter at Vanguard High School. Born and raised in New Orleans, LA., I moved to Ocala in 1986. My wife, Jennifer Salpeter, is a veterinarian/owner of Brick City Cat Hospital (a cat only veterinary practice).
