Jack's City Grill

About

Now serving Certified Angus Beef.

Story

Jack’s City Grill opened its doors in January 2009. Our eclectic menu features fajitas, steaks, giant burgers (you’ll love the Bison Burger), our one-of-a-kind Buffaloaf (buffalo meatloaf) wraps, quesadillas, ribs, and fish.

Our full bar is the best in town with 27 beers on tap. Regulars even get their very own name-tagged beer mug which hang on a line just waiting for the next time they drop in to wet the whistle.

A vibrant, colorful atmosphere is accented with guest-made graffiti and art crafted from reclaimed materials. To commemorate special events at Jack’s City Grill, treat your friends to a selection from our fabulous wine list, decorate your bottle, and hang it on our wine tree for perpetuity.

Our party room accommodates groups of 50 and is a great choice for birthday parties, Christmas parties, bachelorette parties, business get-togethers, baby showers, and rehearsal dinners to name a few.

Reviews
Let me preface this review by saying that I will be reviewing this restaurant from an employees perspective; not a customer’s perspective. A long time ago I was asked to apply at and review Jack’s City Grill. I tried very hard to find things to nit-pick at; but honestly could come up with very little. As far as bars/restaurants go as a workplace, Jack’s City Grill is one of the best I’ve ever had the pleasure of reviewing. Like all restaurants, not everyone on the staff was easy to get along with, however everyone tried their best to simply coexist. I worked in almost all positions except management during my time here, and each one had it’s own unique perks. I started as a host/cashier making just above minimum wage. The duties in this position were not hard by any means and to be honest I found those positions quite enjoyable overall. The public interaction with customers coming in and leaving was almost always pleasant and enjoyable. When I moved up to serving, I really started learning the lay of the land at this restaurant. The sections are very well planned and very manageable. It’s very rare that a server would be overwhelmed with too many tables and lose track of what they were doing. The opening and closing duties were split up very equally and easy to complete. The cooking staff - A position I did not personally attain during my time there - was exceptional. They worked relentlessly and efficiently and would always get you what you needed when you needed it as a server. Now onto bar tending; every bar has it’s regulars, but the regulars here were all really great people. They were always great conversation and fun to have around. The bar itself was very well set up and easy to work behind. Everything was well placed and easy access in a rush. Overall, working at Jack’s City Grill is a great job for students or people just looking for something part time. ~ Anonymous Ratings

The food was okay, but went here with higher expectations. For the price, the chicken sandwich and burger were both rather small. Their fries were frozen btw. Lunch for 2 people with a 4 dollar tip was 35 dollars, no dessert. Cootie browns is far better, portions are larger and the price is lower. If this is the type food you like, go to cootie's.

I got the Grilled Tilapia sandwich and is was the most underwhelming thing I've ever ate. For I think It was 10 bucks, I expected so much better and more quantity. I didn't get very many fries at all and I found sharp and hard fish bones in the meat. It wasn't that great tasting either and was very greasy. Took super long for the good to arrive as well, but when it DID arrive, it wasn't hot but just kiinda warm. Needless to say I won't be coming back and Cootie Browns is 10x better

Service was great. Food was not so great. I got a sample off the appetizer side. The ribs were rock hard. Wings were the same way. Quesadilla and popcorn chicken were ok. My daughter got a popcorn chicken kids meal. The fires were cold. My boyfriend got the S.O.B. chicken and it was all cold. There was only a handful of people in the restaurant so I was confused why order too so long.

Cheesey grit cakes. I could make a meal of them alone. Their sangrias are pretty good too
