Story

Hadyn Hilton at the age of 24, opened Java Cats because she wanted to help both cats and people in her city that didn’t have homes. She started by partnering with The Gathering, an organization that uses the proceeds for its box lunches to help homeless people get restaurant jobs. She also set up a location in historic Grant Park where visitors could pay an hourly rate to enjoy Ebrik coffee and be surrounded by adoptable cats. Now, everything’s come together, and we’re excited that we get to give back to our wonderful community. Book a reservation, grab a cup of java, and enjoy the magical experience of visiting Atlanta’s first cat cafe.

A great cat cafe! Good coffee too. To enter the cat space was $10 which included a coffee. I have been to cat cafe's in NYC that were much more expensive! The cats in the cat room were very nice and even the ones who were tired still sat within human reach so you could pet them. Many cute cats from PAWS Atlanta. It was also very clean and no 'cat smell' at all. I recommend it.

This was the BEST place I have been!! I brought a friend with me and it was so nice getting there a bit early to enjoy such a nice part of town before having such a great time with the kitties. The parking is a bit strange, but I parked on the back side of the block and I didn't feel strange walking to my cat after 10 (I had the latest reservation time). I did go for the cats, but the coffee was so good too! Such a nice, clean place with the eclectic Atlanta feel that we all love. No need to worry- the coffee shop and cat room are separate, and the cat room doesn't even smell like cats! A lot of people expressed to me that they wouldn't enjoy that, and honestly it smelled less like animals than any pet store I have ever been to. Everything about this place was well thought out and enjoyable. I really have zero complaints, and can't even name a way this little place can improve. Did I mention that even the pastries and such go to help Atlanta homeless get back into the job market???

Strange thing: we were kicked out of the “cat room” so that 4 other people could come in. If we were allowed to stay, there would have been a total of 6 people in a room that holds 12. Why not let us stay? Coffee was good though, and supports a good cause.

Cats! That (generally) want to be loved! What more could you ask for? Coffee? They have that, too! I had never been to a "Cat Cafe" before and this was a wonderful first experience. There's enough room, the cats ARE friendly, and the staff is welcoming and very open to suggestion and ideas. I was able to handle most of the cats and even the couple of kittens running around. This is such a great idea, so glad they're doing it. I hope the little girl kitty with the truly terrible shaved haircut is doing better, she's incredibly shy. But I'm glad I got her to eat! Java Cats is definitely one of my new favorite spots! My boyfriend and I went on a Thursday afternoon and it was wonderful. From the time we walked in and got our coffee (which is delicious), to the time we left, we were greeted with a friendly staff and playful kitties! Reserving your 1 hour time slot is very easy and convenient. We were able to stay a little past our time since the place was slow during the time we went. Some of the cats were napping, but we got to play with each one at some point and they are CUTE!!!!! I love the mission of this place and the layout where you can watch the cats from the large window as you enjoy your coffee! It is a very chill hangout spot it is super trendy. The parking is limited, but we didn't have trouble finding a spot when we went and it was such a fun date spot for my cat loving boyfriend and I. The place is clean and the cats have plenty of room to play. And did I mention that there are NONE of the original cats there, that's right, they have ALL been adopted. Come check this cool new place out and adopt a cat!
