Decided to buy an electronic game for $20 and one person in front of me. Waited a long time, got in conversation with another person in line, the person in front of me never got the problem resolved. Put the toy away, went home and bought it on line for $12 dollars. I don't know how this place can stay in business.

We happened in during a few great sales. That seems to be the case most times we visit this Penneys.

JC Penny Custom Drapery. The managers here are kids who should realize they are up against online behemoths and have the edge on them by being able to have face to face customer service, but instead they screw up at every chance they have to make it right. Mother bought custom vertical blinds/drapes mid-September. Used the coupon discount tactic to hurry the close. She paid extra to have them come out to measure to ensure they would be done right. Took WEEKS to get the guy to come out - and communication between JC Penny and the measurement company is not there. Finally came out and measured - then gave measurements to mom - and SHE had to take them into the store...why they don't communicate directly I have no idea. Drapes finally came in - big box drop shipped to her house. Had to wait WEEKS with this giant box in the living room before the installer could come out. Again, NO COORDINATION between Penny and the installer re: expected delivery date. Finally comes out and the measurements are wrong - starting over. Paid extra for measurement and installation, both of which have not happened. Was originally promised before Thanksgiving - if we are lucky it will be before Valentines day.

Horrible customer service. Period. I ordered a pair of tan boots about two weeks ago. So you would think they would have it prepared by now (nope). I waited 10-15 minutes in line to pick up the order and then was given the wrong pair. Then I had to wait 15-20 mins in line (partly because the cashiers were talking to eachother and some customers that they knew). I ended up getting a refund, but no shoes. They told me that I could go up to the shoe department to see if they had a pair, so I did. I got up there and there was no one at the counter, so I went to the customer service desk nearby and told them what happened. They called for the manager and so I waited about 5 minutes more. He arrived and as I was explaining what had happened, I was interrupted. He had to go do something else and told me to wait about 8 more minutes. At this point I was fed up so I left. No boots were obtained during this whole time. I will not be ordering at this JCPenneys again. And I hope that they get their customer service together.

The store's presentation was nice overall, but the bathrooms had a lot of issues. Both paper towel dispensers in the mens room were out, and appeared to have been for a while if the stacks of towels on top of the sink were any indication. In addition, they were running a sales promotion with very unclear advertising. Buying multiple appliances is supposed to award you a gift card. There is a minimum purchase amount to qualify for this offer, but it is only stated in the fine print. I have no problem with the restrictions. However, when all of your advertising does not clearly state them it is deceptive.
