This is one of my favorite places to eat! The food & service are always exceptional! I love that you have the choice between tavern style dining upstairs that is more casual or a more romantic style dining downstairs that's more formal. They always have a featured food & drink menu that changes monthly/ seasonally. They consist of very taste appropriate dishes & drinks that play off of the time of year. I highly recommend the creamy crab & shrimp covered salmon! By far the best salmon I've ever had! Tasteful hint: if you order the red skinned mashed potatoes as your side, you can put in a request to have the mixture added to the top as a gravy if requested when ordering. This is a very popular place for locals & out of town visitors; reservations are a must at peak hours to avoid waiting.

We stopped in to have dinner. The ambiance was they type I enjoy. Since I like history and antiques, this over 250 year old tavern was perfect for me. The menu had many choices. The food was fresh and delicious! Our waitress was lovely, very friendly and accommodating. The cost of the food was reasonable. This was a fantastic alternative to a fast food meal along the highway. Loved it!

Beautiful, eclectic, with a historical feel. Great food and the friendly staff made for a great experience. The basement level has a stunning raw rock wall interior.

We had the Oct special Ribeye meal. It was outstanding in every way. The crab/shrimp dip was so good for an app. The pace of the meal was perfect even though they were busy.

A historic landmark, riddled with ghost stories (has been featured on Halloween travel documentaries every year for a decade), and great atmosphere. There is a pub with tavern food on the upper level and a proper restaurant with quite a cultured menu downstairs (I always opt for the downstairs because I can "feel" what it must have been like in pre-revolutionary days to eat there). The staff are always friendly, as are the local regular patrons who seem to come with the place. Highly recommended!
