Every employee conversation you overhear is about how much they hate their job or hate their life. Most customers are forced to go through the self-checkout and as unfortunate as it is that so many human cashier's have lost their jobs due to the self checkout, none of the employees have expressed any greater level of appreciation for the obsolete job they have. On another note it's too bad that Jewel-Osco doesn't lower their prices despite saving a boat load on employee labor due to the increased use of self checkout, especially because till this day the dollar stores only have human cashiers. When compared to other Jewel-Osco locations this one is by far filled with the most unhappy staff. It makes the shopping experience depressing and we feel bad for the employees there. If anyone from corporate is reading this please take a secret visit and Shop this location and just listen to and see how depressing it is

This jewel's is nice and the customer service is good so far I've got nothing but good cashiers the food is fresh and i love the sales when thier on, I shop here all the time.

I've been shopping at this location for over 5 years mainly because this store is like 5 mins from my house. If there was any other larger grocery store near me I would shop there. There are several issues that annoy me about this place and they have all been an issue since day 1. The store frequently has at least one self checkout down and the person running them is always distracted. I'm constantly waiting for someone to help me when the machine asks for associate assistance. Also theres almost never enough manned registers open. Lines here are VERY common. The produce section is constantly out of common items. If you go there in the afternoon on a weekend good luck finding anything you need. The dairy sections are CONSTANTLY out of stock for regular items. It's common for items to not ring up as marked. Most associates that work in this store dont seem very motivated to ever smile or to want to help customers. I always feel like they would rather be anywhere else. I've also had several issues where I've bought items that were at or near expiration without noticing it. So make sure to be diligent and check dates because this store does not do well with rotating their stock. I've been shopping at different jewels throughout the Chicagoland area for 20 years and never had as many issues as I do with this location and nothing has changed. Even the "remodel" they did a couple years ago made no difference as the store still feels dated. Thankfully they finally recently came into this century and added Wifi for customers to use while shopping. Which is helpful because you cannot get a cell signal AT ALL inside this building.
