Secure parking lot close to the air train. You can check how full the lot is online and print a coupon that saves you $4 a day (don't know how often these coupons are available). Make sure you ask gate attendant to validate your coupon upon exiting. Only problem is that it can easily take 20 more minutes to get to your terminal. For example if you fly out of terminal 7 in the morning the air train will stop 2.5 minutes at each other terminal. Do the math and see if it works for you.

I used Lot 9 when travelling very early morning with my young twins on my own and I found it a great experience.  I did have trouble finding the lot, but thankfully had allowed extra time for something like that.  I would suggest giving yourself at least 30 minutes more time than you think to account for any walk from your car to the air train and then waiting for a train to your terminal - stopping at every terminal is of course needed, but it all takes time.  I will be using this again. And yes, take a photo of where your car is!

There's always plenty of parking available, and often a space or two near the train terminal. 

Their prices compare well to off-site options these days, and it's doubly convenient to charge automatically to your EZpass when you leave. No driving through questionable neighborhoods to get here, either.

It has been a few years and several visits here since I've used any other long-term option.

Great parking option if you're going to be away for a few days. 4 stars because it is still quite away from the terminals. Give yourself 25 minutes or so to make it to the terminals on the the train after you park.

I applaud JFK/ port authority ( or what ever governing body responsible for the parking situation) for first sending a email to customers flying out of JFK for a $4 discount per day. I saved a good amount on parking at the Leffert's Blvd/ long term parking. Being able to use my ez pass to pay when leaving is extremely convenient. Kudos!!
