Story

Jilly's is a local bakery and café based out of St. Louis that has been in business in University City since 2007. We started with larger-than-life cupcakes and have since branched out into the world of gourmet ice cream! We believe in making handcrafted, premium products. Jilly's has received such amazing community support that we were able to open our second location in Edwardsville in the summer of 2017.

Jilly’s Cupcake Bar and Café is a 2 time winner and 3 time contestant on Food Network’s Cupcake Wars. We have won the American Culinary Federation Award of Excellence in 2014, along with local publication awards for Best Cupcake (Riverfront Times, St. Louis Magazine, Ladue News, Sauce Magazine, Alive Magazine).

Reviews

Quick version: earned two stars for clean, inviting atmosphere. Staff was friendly. Lost 3 stars for expensive price and a less premium cupcake than expected. 

My wife and I visited Jilly's, and were impressed with all the flavors. Everything looked delicious. We were told the place was fairly expensive, but we didn't expect to pay $14 for two cupcakes. My wife ordered the Carmel cupcake and I ordered the turtle cheesecake. 

Cupcakes were good, but VERY dense and too much icing/filling. Also you get disposable paper plates (nice ones at that) and plastic spoons. When compared to the other cup cake place in town, The Cup, we prefer the cup's metal forks and real plates.

We aren't "the cup" loyalists by any means, which is why we tried Jilly's, but overall Jilly's is more expensive and we preferred The Cup's cupcakes. We probably will return to Jilly's to try their ice cream though, because it looked delicious - having said that, if a premium cupcake is why you're after, make the short drive over to The Cup. 

Edit: I added another star because we did go back for ice cream, and it was GREAT! The ice cream flavors were really fantastic, with a lot of goodies added in. I had the gooey butter cake. 

Not a fan of their cupcakes, but oddly enough I will consider them a great ice cream place.

Beautiful, clean store. The staff were friendly and efficient. The cupcakes were all so gorgeous, and also the cakes. Twisted Pink with the caramel and Bee Sting are still my favs.

Good cupcakes but amateurs at business. Do not call yourself a cupcake bar and run out of cupcakes. It's Spring Break in Edwardsville anyone who owns a food business should know they will be hammered. Second it's Thursday, you had the first half the week to get pars adjusted. I won't waste my time again considering there is no way to know if they will actually have what made them famous in stock. Worst part it's my wife's birthday and all she wanted was a cupcake when I got off work. Thanks Jilly's for not being able to manage.

Not like they used to be. We loved Jillys cupcakes. Would drive from central illinois to st louis for them. But not anymore. They are dry and the "filled cupcakes" have little to no filling. We expressed our dissatisfaction and were basically told then don't buy them. So we haven't been back. So sad.

Really awesome bakery! Inside is very clean and fun. Cupcakes are huge, cute, and delicious! The lady at the counter was very patient while we made our decision. I really love the mini cupcakes sampler pack with holiday or regular flavors and how they have other foods besides cupcakes. Hope to go back really soon!
