Mike Shannon’s Grill in Edwardsville is a hit for tasty food, great service, and fine atmosphere.

A group of us stopped in for their popular happy hour which occurs from 4-6 on Monday through Friday. Half-price appetizers, $2 Domestic Draft Beer, $5 Domestic Draft Pitchers, $2 Well Cocktails, and $5 Glasses of House Wine make this a winner!

I arrived after others in our group had devoured the Fried Pickles. I heard they were quite good. 

The Spinach and Artichoke dip was tasty start that came with multi-colored tortilla chips. 

We also enjoyed their Fried Chicken Livers with had a smear of Mustard, Cajun Shrimp-not fried-in a flavorful, lightly spiced remoulade, and Toasted Ravioli accompanied by Marinara for dipping. 

All the appetizers were well prepared and well plated. 

Our server was superior. He was attentive, efficient, and friendly. His section was full and he handled the busy crowd effortlessly.

Mike Shannon’s decor and atmosphere can be best described as “upscale sports”. St. Louis baseball memorabilia is tastefully displayed throughout the bar and restaurant. Some non-sports items are intermingled which provides variety. 

Plenty of self-parking is available and convenient in the lot. 

This was my first time at this location and I look forward to more Happy Hour visits and would not hesitate to make a dinner reservation.

The atmosphere is nice.  The food though was excellent as always.  Our waitress was pretty good, but not quite as attentive as maybe I would like.  It was pretty busy though, so that's understandable.  We've visited Mike Shannon's several times and I always enjoy the experience.

Everything was so delicious! I scarfed down my seafood salad and also tried some of the spinach salad and meatloaf which were amazing too! Oh and get the spicy bloody Mary- if that's you're thing, you'll love it! Very cool architecture and decor too.

The food was average. Service wasn't very good. The fried ravioli was the best part of the experience. Love Mike Shannon and the Cardinals but this was a one and done for us.

Wish I could post pictures. We celebrated our 10th anniversary on Friday night at Mike Shannon in Edwardsville. We both ordered prime rib @ nearly $30 a plate. Neither steak came out as ordered, my wife wanted here's well done, it was med rare at best, mine was supposed to be med well, mine also came out rare. Drinks sat on table empty most of the evening, once we got a refill the drinks didn't even taste like the first glass of strawberry lemonade, and somehow had carbonation in it.
