THE HOSTESS THAT WORKED ON MARCH 26 AT 1 PM WAS EXTREMELY RUDE AND THERE IS NO ACCEPTABLE REASON FOR HER RACIST BEHAVIOR. I here for lunch at 13:00 on March 26. There was a couple in front of my waiting to be seated. When my group walked in, we were not greeted at all by the hostess. After a minute of waiting, I walked up to her and waited for her to look up and assist me. She did not. She did not even acknowledge my existence. I then proceeded to ask her if it was necessary to reserve a table or who to speak to in order to put our name on the list to have a table. She said they do not take reservations and we have to speak to her about a table. She also said there is a wait and tables needed to be cleaned and then continued to finish whatever she was doing on her electronic device. A minute later a white couple walked in, and she immediately greeted them, asked them how many were in their party and said it will be a few minutes for a table. Either the hostess working that day is extremely rude and racist, or extremely hates her job enough not to do it. Either way, management needs to address her disrespectful racist behavior toward non-white customers. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. My server, Jeffrey, however was the complete opposite of the server. He was sincerely polite and nice, helpful, and happy. He completely changed the mood after coming inside of the restaurant already wanting to immediately leave. Thank you for people like you, Jeffrey. If it were not for you, my party of four would have immediately left this dining institution. The food was good and the portions are large. I will definitely come here again once the hostess issue is addressed. Otherwise, I will gladly go to any other better barbecue restaurant in Charleston.

Just landed in Charleston and we’re looking for a place to grab lunch. We landed around 2:15pm and were looking at local restaurants and it seemed that almost every restaurant closes at 3pm and opens back up at 5pm! It must be something normal locally, but I’ve never seen that in the Midwest! Definitely made finding a place to eat challenging. I saw this place on the map right away and made note but wasn’t sure if we were wanting to go into Charleston proper. Then we asked the people working at the car rental place where we could go for BBQ the woman there suggested Jim n Nicks! I’m glad she did! I got the Mac n cheese (which is my go to, I stop reading a menu when I see Mac n Cheese) and it was excellent. The service was great and helpful! If I lived nearby this would be dangerous, I would go here all the time!

Food was amazing! Our bartender Tiffany was very personable and cool. She earned 2 new regulars for this establishment. We will also be placing a large catering order tomorrow! I come from a food and Bev background and must say Jim and Nicks has a quality employee in this young lady. (Management Material)~

If I could have given 0 stars I would have. We had a group of 11 people. We were told that it would be a 20 min wait. That's fine we waited. 20 minutes went by and we were told they were getting our table together. 15 minutes later table still not ready. We ended up leaving. Very displeased. Also very short staffed for a Saturday night.

My Sister & I dined here for my birthday recently. Service was quick! We were seated right away, ordered and food came out fresh. Cleanliness was on point and we will definitely be returning customers.
