Avoid if you like timely responses.

Had them come out to look at some repairs that my house needed. Man who came out was friendly, and appeared quite knowledgeable. I looked forward to working with him and asked for a quote to proceed. He said he would have it right out to me, and probably could have it to me the next day. Awesome.

Three days passed and no quote or communication, so I called to make sure he had the correct e-mail. Receptionist said yes he did, and he was working on it, but it wasn't ready yet. Fair enough, so I gave them another four days. Called back. Same answer. After another 4 days I called and asked that the receptionist call me back and at least let me know what was going on. Why it was taking this long when I was initially told it would be the next day?

It's been over three weeks. Still no quote. Receptionist never called me back.

I'm not sure if they didn't want the job, or what. But the least they could do is tell me that instead of wasting my time and never returning calls. I have since contacted another company and they have been very helpful and prompt in all communication.

Nothing scares me more than a flaky contractor. What happens if they stop communicating mid job? Your left holding the bag. No thanks!

Same thing happened to me with John Moody. He came out on the day scheduled, even his wife called 10 minutes before the appointment that he was running behind. At first I was impressed with the communication and timeliness but that all changed. He came out mid-week and told me upfront that he would have a bid ready by the end of the following week. One week past beyond that time (making it 2.5 weeks now) and nothing. I wait one more and finally contacted them. I was told that they still wanted to bid the job and I said I still wanted a bid but also wanted to know why nothing was communicated with me on the delay. More weeks have passed by making it over a month now, I give up. I agree with Timothy, you definitely don't want a flaky contractor like John Moody Construction working for you.
