Me and my friends were going to eat here. It was really busy, but it was a seat yourself. Being a server myself, I didn't want to seat myself at a dirty table (all of them hadn't been cleaned yet) because that's rude, and of course, kind of gross. I walked around to find a table that had been cleared off. No table was cleared off so I went back and waited until one was because I figured they had gotten slammed. Well, this short haired lady walked up to me and said "This is a seat yourself, so sit down and someone will clean it off eventually". She was really rude. Maybe she was just having a bad day, but still, that's not the way to go about it. I do want to give this experience another try because you never know. I just hope no one has an experience like this because that was my first time going to this restaurant. We ended up leaving and never actually ordering anything because she was really rude :(

We came in again. This time there was a booth open so we sat down. It took a little while for someone to come get us menus, but we eventually got them. It took awhile for the lady to come back and take our order. This table next to us had been waiting a really long time to even get their menus. They had the same waitress as we did. When she got to that table, they said "We are ready to order" but she told them "Sorry I have other orders to take" and then they ended up leaving because they were so mad. After they left, the waitress came to our table and took our order. She obviously seem stressed, but she got that in as soon as she could. We continued waiting and it ended up being 12:51 by the time we got our food (we came in around 11:35). My boyfriend had asked for hot sauce and she gave him an empty bottle of Tabasco, so he asked for more. We had seen two more groups of people sit down and end up leaving because our server was rude to them. We had to ask for our bill right away because my boyfriend had to work at 1:30 and who knows how long it would've took to get our bill. The food was okay, but really not worth the wait. The likelihood of us coming back is minimal. I gave them another chance but it was a horrible experience the second time. Kaleva definitely needs better servers if they want to keep a decent reputation. More servers would also be helpful. We're probably going to call management later because that's so ridiculous.

One of my favorite places for breakfast food. They serve it all day too and also do carryout. I prefer this place so much because the quality of the food is high and the prices are very reasonable, plus they have a nice little bakery section that is delicious as well.

I have eaten here many times as I have visited the U.P. 
I have mostly enjoyed their Cornish pasties. This last visit however was somewhat disappointing. The pasties crusts were tough and hard. The ingredients were tasty and good. Just hard to get to.

The food was great and top notch!! I found my new breakfast spot in Houghton-Hancock. The service was a little bit slow, that's why 4 instead of 5 stars.
