Dr. Kalhorn is a gifted neurosurgeon. He has superior patient understanding skills. He truly has the best interests of his patients’ needs as his guiding beacon.
I was recently rear-ended in a hit-and-run car accident and had my first cervical spine surgery consult with Dr. Christopher Kalhorn and it went very well. He impressed me with his explanations of my complex spine issues, and took the time to thoroughly explain my diagnosis and treatment options in a way that was easy to understand. His compassion and professionalism put me at ease and made me feel confident in moving forward with my treatment plan.
Dr Kalhorn himself seems top-notch. Getting in and out of the Georgetown Medstar "Campus" was aggravating and time consuming. Fortunately, the office was tolerant of our late-ish arrival.
Dr. Kalhorn is a highly skilled and compassionate neurosurgeon. He took the time to explain everything clearly and showed genuine care throughout the entire process. I felt confident and well-supported under his care.

We were refer to Dr Kalhorn by our neurologist who suggested that my father consider having a shunt put in for his hydrocephalus. We were a little bit fearful because of my father's age but Dr Kalhorn reassured us that everything would be okay. After having mixed results with the lumbar puncture we decided to go ahead with the shunt and it was the best decision we could have ever made. My father made a 100% recovery. All three of his symptoms have improved dramatically and we couldn't be any happier with the results. My father got his life back! Dr Kalhorn is the best doctor we could have ever asked for. We're all very thankful to him
If you want the best in terms of technical skill and compassion Dr. Kalhorn is your man. I will never forget how he came in the room and I was feeling a bit down and was rubbing my eyes. He looked at me and said, “what’s wrong,” and held me to comfort me. Never in my life have I experienced that. Then he followed up with two calls that day. I don’t know about you but I have never had a neurosurgeon call me. Bottom line, he is the Doctor that Doctors go to.
