I see Doctor Douoguigh at the Lafayette center. He is excellent but the phone system is arcane, the operators inept, and the amount of time I've wasted trying to reach his office obscene. First, you can't called the orthopedists office directly, you have to go through Medstar's general appointment line. This entails waiting on the phone to speak with the operator. Next, the operator places you on hold again and tries to connect you with your chosen office. Not all them transfer you to the correct office, especially if the doctor you see works in multiple offices. Even if you clearly state what office you're looking for, they make continual mistakes. I once had to re-call the appointment line ten times because of incorrectly being connected to different offices. Even being connected to the correct office isn't a guarantee. I've been hung up on, had the phone ring and ring without answer, or been sent back into the general calling Que. The system makes absolutely no sense, will waste an enormous amount of your time, and is frankly a total embarrassment. Consider yourself warned. If you can see someone here the Orthopedists are great, but you'll have an endless hassle trying to reach them by phone.
