About

Rice Ball, Japanese Deli, Coffee, Hot and Ice Beverage

Story

Kawaba Rice Ball is a Japanese deli specializing in musubi. Unlike sushi, onigiri is a casual food, perfect for eating on the go. Rice balls are a popular food in Japan, and a staple of Japanese bento or lunch boxes.
At Kawaba Musubi, we care about ingredients. We use organic or natural ingredients as much as possible. Our rice is directly imported from Kawaba Village. Onigiri usually includes a filling, which can be meat, fish or Japanese-style pickled vegetables. Preparation is important, so we cook the rice in a specific way to make it perfectly soft, warm and delicious. Of course, our meals are entirely handmade, and processed ingredients are kept to a minimum. The quality of our ingredients and the care taken during preparation make a seemingly simple meal into a gourmet experience!

Cute, little restaurant that sells the fun Japanese rice balls. I love the Japanese rice balls (onigiris), and was so excited when I found this place! The restaurant itself is pretty small, so it may not be the best place to sit down and eat. But really, rice balls are great to-go snacks, so it's convenient to take them around. $3.50ish per onigiri- not too bad. Since I was ordering to-go, I went off the menu that was posted on Yelp, which showed a very limited selection. When I actually walked in to pick up the food, I found their extensive menu sitting on the counter. I was so sad to see they had many more flavor offerings than what I had seen online. Bummer. With that said, I still ordered quite a few to try (not by myself, of course).I tried the spicy tuna (very good), salmon (very good), teriyaki chicken (not bad), and curry chicken( not bad). I wish I had seen the beef and pork belly (in the larger menu). I would've loved to have tried those. Anyone who has tried those flavors, let me know how it is!

Yum. Simple fare, quickly made and delivered with enthusiasm. From the beginning I confessed ignorance and the cashier guided me through choices, made some recommendations, and warmly took our order. We tried several. Anxious to get back and try Japanese Fried Chicken.

Pretty good eats! I ordered the two item combo with the pork belly ball and the span ball. It was a little pricey at 15 bucks but you get a lot for your money, including edamame and miso soup. Great stop for lunch.

The staff here is nice and friendly. I ordered the spicy tuna and salmon ball. I was definitely not disappointed. You'd think that rice balls would be hard to munch on but these rice balls practically melted in my mouth. I would come back here again just to try their other flavors! :D
