Story

Kelly's Tavern first opened its doors on Colley Avenue in 1983. Since then, we've grown to become a locals' favorite across Hampton Roads with 9 locations in Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake, Suffolk and Newport News.

Known for our humongous burgers, outdoor dining and excellent casual fare, we are proud to have won a variety of community awards.

 I visited Kelly's from Jacksonville, Florida. This is a clean and a friendly Bar. I had a blast, the employees treated me like a regular favorite customer. I look forward to going back tonight. Shout out to my Jacksonvillians, If you are ever in the Newport News, Virginia area, stop in Kelly's and get an order of their great wings, shoot some pool, while getting your favorite cocktail on. The customers are friendly, a very safe place, No Drama!!!!

Best bar in Newport News. This has been my favorite watering hole for about four years now. The food's good, the drinks aren't overpriced, the people are friendly, and Rachel (bartender extraordinaire) is awesome. If you don't like crowds, stay away after about nine on weekends.

I usually don't write a survey. Kelly's tavern in Port Warwick is pretty flipping amazing to me. The staff is great. Know me by name Everytime I come in. Know what I want and strikes up conversation with me.

While the food may be fairly good, like their burgers, you have to really like pool, darts, and smoke to want to go as their outer non-smoking tables rarely feel like they're being serviced or busy so all of the attention is in the inner bar and pool room area.  Dart boards and pool tables are just moderately kept in good condition it feels. Staff can either be really friendly or really put-off. Other patrons may equally be friendly for a game of pool or want to fight if it's a weekend night (like one night a long while ago being told to stay inside b/c there were reported shots in the parking lot). Personally, I try not to go here anymore, but maybe that's just me.  If you want to drink heavy though and get some energy at the same time, get an Irish Trashcan.

Good pool tables.  The service is a bit slow and the crowd can be a bit rachet.
