Officers I've encountered for this specific department were nothing but rude and unethical. These officers need a serious attitude adjustment or get a new job doing something else bc you don't help anyone you just bully people. I had gotten into a car accident and almost died , luckily I was saved by a stop light pole from tumbling down a hill with a car with broken airbags . Officers arrived and treated me SO horribly and to top it off I was in a state of shock from near death experience and they made my experience so much worse. You call yourself officers ? You're a disgrace to your country

I lived in  and out of Kent for the last 30 years. I don't care much for the changes in the people that have moved here. Lots more crime due to all the section 8 housing all over. But the Kent Police  handle business. They hire the best officers from anywhere. I have lived in  many other cities and never cared too much for her many other departments. The most respectable officers  i've ever seen. This department does an excellent job at protecting the citizens when called upon. Pierce County PD is the second best department in Washington. Whatever trains the  officers at the Kent Police  department, you're doing a great job. Just had to give a quick shout out to this department for their outstanding work.

Today I was caught in Kent traffic. I was making a left turn when the two cars in front of me stopped and we're caught in the intersection. I got caught sitting on the crosswalk hanging less than a foot over, I was not blocking traffic in any way and there were no pedestrians to be seen. While I understand stopping on a crosswalk is illegal I was pinned.

A Kent police officer was taking a left in front of me and his answer to the problem was to stop in front of me, hit his lights and bleep his siren. He gave me a horrible look and screamed "No". As he completed his turn he continued to give me a crappy look and when he was at my window I said I'm sorry pointing at the two cars actually in the intersection i"I got stuck" no exaggeration he screamed "I don't care" and drove off.

First off I'm 53 years old and shouldn't be talked to like a 5 year old.
Secondly if it was that important he should have stopped and ticketed me.

We have all been trapped like this at one time or another. Most likely he has at some time as well.

All that said I was raised to respect the police and the job they do. I have had little to no interaction with the police iny life and have been concerned about all the bad press the police get. If this is an indicator of what we pay these people for I'm afraid I'm going to have to switch sides on this issue.

My only advice to the Kent police department is this.
 If you don't want to be treated like jerks maybe you shouldn't act like jerks.

Kent Police were used by Mikel Ensminger of Terrace Olympus Apartments to remove myself and children from our home. They do not see any issue with this. They would not take a statement from me when they came but threatened to come back if we did not leave. My youngest son cried for three days, scared they would come kill us if she asked as she had used them based on an outright lie. I in turn requested a formal complaint form. I had to demand it through 3 emails, calling twice and a 23+ minute phone conversation in which I was told that nothing wrong had happened,THAT THERE WAS NO RECORD OF WHAT I WAS SAYING, there was no need to file a complaint,  that it had been almost a year so why bother etc..... with me asking again and again simply to get the form.  IT TOOK A YEAR AS WE WENT HOMELESS LOST EVERYTHING! LIVED IN CAR GIVEN BY ANOTHER TENANT THAT KNEW THE EVIL  that was being done and other tenants helped, all saying they knew she would use me this way and that we would end up badly . Odd how she made a call, lied, got them to JUMP and when I ask for a form that requires me explaing myself multiple times, being told it will do nothing, (well yes that is the point, you terrorized a family and did her bidding and then shrug and say well I just did my job. So too did the military in Germany, and also by the law, did not make it right.) Every step of the way, I asked for help from City Hall, the police ...they either helped her, or did nothing and watched. I would not live in Kent Wa again if I were given a house and a tiara and made queen of James Hill. Corruption and laziness and terroizing a mother and her children are the legacy for myself and sons. I plan on building a web site for people that are intimidated and abused by police officers. WE THE PEOPLE NEED TO TAKE BACK THE AUTHORITY FROM THOSE THAT ABUSE IT. Officers are given authority to serve and protect not be the hired thugs of a woman like Ms. Ensminger that made a call and got her way, using them as mindless drones to do her bidding, yet with no attempt to hear the other side was made. If there are laws in place that this could happen, they need to be changed. And if we have indidivuals so callous and cold not to mention IT TOOK MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS TO EVEN GET A FORM FROM of which I do not even think is a formal complaint form: it says feedback and looks like something a child made and then made copies of , then those individuals also need to be replaced.
